It'll be a 4-3-3 with Young and Nani flanking Rooney. Welbeck is a great option to come on as a sub in a formation like that because he can come on as a wide forward rather than a winger per se.

feck playing one upfront it's only the charity shield.

On preseason form Welbeck deserves 45 minutes at least.

Give Anderson and Cleverly an opportunity to prove we don't need to sign.

This is no ordinary CS, this is a derby, feck going into it weakening an already injury damaged team.

Meh, even if it is a derby I can't really get up for it. Its a bit of a joke game really.

I'm just looking forward to seeing De Gea, Young and hopefully Cleverley, Welbeck and Jones in a "semi-competitive" environment.

Most bitters I know are saying it's only a friendly, I wonder how that'll change if they win.

It's just the CS so it doesn't really matter. It's just great to see some proper football though!

Thing is, while it's essentially a glorified friendly, it's competitive in that the players go all out to win it and go just as mental when they score. Losing it isn't curtains (we won the league after convincing losses in 98, 99 and 2000) but winning can give you a real boost in confidence and set you up for a great season.

If we win it's just a friendly if we lose the tide is turning etc etc

Today matters just so we can avoid that bullshit for a few months

In fairness if we do win I'd expect the press to run with 'Ferguson shows City who's still boss.' or something similar.

I'm thinking 1-1 and the berties win on pens!

Oh how I hate watching united at wembley!
Ah well new season so hopefully we can get off to a flyer'

Since the Community Shield returned to Wembley Stadium in 2007, every team that has won the traditional curtain-raiser to the season has gone on to win the Premier League.
You should post it if we win. Not before the game starts. :(

Official City line-up:

Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, De Jong, Silva, Yaya, Milner, Balotelli, Dzeko.

I'd appreciate it if somebody can PM me a working SopCast English stream.

Just getting a feeling that we're gonna hammer them today.
