i just realised that i have been sat at the front window all afternoon and not a single person has gone by outside, it seems to be eerily quiet out there at the moment

If people hit Southall they're going to get a huge surprise. The shopkeepers around there won't just roll over, they'll defend their businesses however they can.

Already heard that local shopkeepers are standing guard armed with sticks an steel poles etc.

Damn right, get into them.

Hounslow High Street just been closed and cordoned off. Got a text from Gym Hounslow saying that it will be shut tonight.

Very strong community in southall. They won't stand there and let their shops get looted.

Did you get as far up as the shopping centre? Was it badly fire damaged if you did?

Yes I got to the shopping centre and, thankfully from what I could see, the rumours seem to be exaggerated. The centre was completely closed and nobody could go inside so I don't know what may have happened there. The building that burned was a corner shop a short walk away from there. I assume people mistook that blaze for the centre itself.

This is what burned.

This is one of the main problems that I predicted. When the violence escalates into Hoody-Scum Vs Vigilante (or shop owner willing to inflict serious damage) we have a very big problem on our hands.

Good to hear. The rents called up someone who lived right opposite the centre and she was saying it was on fire, and it was being repeated as fact by several journalists in the area on twitter... hopefully it was as small as you say then.

Yeah the centre's had the shutters up since about 1.30-2pm I think, that was when my mum had to leave by. I've probably been in that corner shop countless times on my way to the station :(

Just seen the picture - didn't realise that the worst of it was up Bond Street. There was a decent pub right next to that shop, I think. That'll be shut for a while

feck

It was only a matter of time

We have a shop on the Bletchley highstreet, it's has many masks and costumes, I can see it being an attraction for looters if the opportunity arises / the police don't push them back off. It's insane it really is.

Sorry to hear that man.

The party shop in Clapham Junction went up in a blaze last night. We used to always head there whenever there was a fancy dress party on.

Seemed like really good people who were always friendly and helpful.

2 arrested in Folkston, Kent for inciting riots via social networks. Good !

What the feck are these people like ??!!

Yeah I was watching it yesterday, we used to go there years ago, well, when we were walking around, and worry about how the competition may grow. Now it's a burnt shell.

Hows things looking for you kinky, is the shop above still open?

the robust approach is too late. and sixteen million coppers too late. its done - the spoils of victory have been won. dibble clueless as usual. looters sitting at home tryin on their gear and all the bill in london..

Looting and riots in Wolverhampton. Workforce at my place have been told to avoid city centre.

Thankfully I have to go the opposite way back home

Hectic you are the only person on the net reporting trouble there.

Where did you get it from?

They're closing things down slowly but surely. The problem is their greed. Without meaning to sound too harsh they really should have shut up shop last night. Staying open effects the entire 3 stories of this building

Don't I know it! I live in Hounslow, so I'm not too far from Southall at all. Hope these looting feckers get what's coming to them.

Comiserations fella.

Lots of divs round my way talking about Hounslow tonight.

I'm in Twickenham/Whitton.
