Berbatov | Fulham player

I don't get it why its so hard for some folks to believe Berbatov is happy and SAF is happy got have him in the squad.

I honestly don't understand some people wishing him to basically feck off.Is it not enought that he's 4th choice now, why all this hatred towards a player who played a big part into winning the record 20th PL title.

I think we are very lucky to have Berbatov and Owen.

Injuries can happen.

I just want to see Mecheda loaned out. He needs to play everyday.

Diouf too.

The Hernendez Rooney strike pair is very good but can be predictable. Welbeck is great but still so young.

I really wanna see Rooney and Berbatov start together again.

Sometimes I don't know whether to love his attitude or hate it. Half of me thinks he is just really happy doing whatever is asked or him and half of me feels like he talks and acts more like a loser than a winner.

Actions soeak louder than words?

20th? I must have got it wrong about Berba's laziness! He must have gone off and won an extra one all on his own. Explains why he has conserved energy over the years!

Absolutely ridiculous that people would take that interview and use it as a reason to have a pop at Berbatov. Pathetic.

People here turn into retards when it comes to Berbatov.

The best thing is that these very posters would have a go at him for not being a "team player" if berba came out and moaned about not playing enough.

Wrong for me anyway. I am still shocked that our record transfer seems content with being 4th choice.

Its an odd situation and I would expect no top player to take it as well as Berbatov has

Yes, clearly he should have done what your favorite player is doing right now.
How do you know that he's content at being 4th choice?
Is it necessary that he should throw a strop to prove that he isn't content at being 4th choice.

It would be great if he would use all that skill and talent in the few chances he gets. But he has been mostly shite in his limited chances apart from his oddly motivated performance at Aldershot

Some people can't stand his on field attitude. I don't like it. Don't like the way he yells at other players.

That said, I'm perfectly happy having him as the forth striker.

But I'm never going to like him.

You keep telling us Berbatov isn't a top player. Which is it?

I love how Berbs is handling the situation and fighting for his spot...

As long as he doesn't do a Tevez... I'm happy.

Hope he can produce some top quality performances to shut-up all the doubters... I'm pretty sure Berbs is at the stage where he has to adabt his game, he wasn't as energetic as when he was in his mid twenties.

It is quite amazing the number of people on here who simply cannot admit that Berbatov does not fit in. Certainly not with United's desire to move the ball quickly and to use pace as a cornerstone of attack. Any old fool can see that Berba has talent - considerable talent in fact - but his languid style simply does not cut it anymore - if ever it did. Furthermore his rather moody countenance is really out of cink with most United fans idea of what a United hero is supposed to be and how he is supposed to perform. He doesn't indear himself does he ? Except to a loyal few perhaps.

He cannot be happy being 4th choice striker making only occasional appearances - can he? On the other hand Fergie's probably quite content to have him on the bench and starting the odd game and to call on his experience when "needed" - despite the fact that his influence in these fleeting appearances seems virtually nil these days.

I have no idea what he would sell for. But quite frankly, anything which would help bring to this club a quality ball winning midfielder would be welcome. That's where our main problem is. In reality, Berbatov's continued presence at this club in terms of United's immediate future success is neither here nor there. Sadly, as things stand, I don't think that's too harsh an assessment

While I'm happy to have his quality on the bench, and also a player who is quite different to others we've got, I'm not sure there's much point to it. He's not great as a substitute, and I also think not playing much has hit his sharpness big time.

good job he was around 12 months ago when Rooney was shaggin whores and demanding a transfer and walked back into the team as soon as he promised to be a good boy - whilst the leagues top scorer, even though he only played half a season was benched in his prime.

..and that is a bit of a problem - so in the circumstances it might be better to part. I can't believe he can be entirely content with his diminished role as it is but because his demeanor isn't like Paul Gascoigne or even Dwight Yorke, who, because he had goofy teeth, everyone thought he was great and cheerful and happy - but that's just how shallow people can be - perhaps if he laughed and joked most on here would think he was brilliant.

I didn't see so many openly discussing his faults when he was rescuing the first half of last season, when Rooney was beyond atrocious

And if Berba doesn't fit our so called type of play, isn't it Fergies fault for not recognising that ?

If his transfer fee wasn't so large, nobody would be complaining about him.

Seriously, what's wrong with him sitting on the bench? If he was constantly complaining, fine, but he's not, and we should be respecting that.

Him and Owen are in basically the same situation right now, but everyones opinion on Owen is that he's "useful to have because he was free".

Yeah he cost alot, but it's been 3 1/2 years, get over it.

Good post.

My reaction is justified considering his bizarre statement that I quoted in my original post. I've never seen Berbatov give 100% in United shirt. That attitude should just not be acceptable in my opinion. He has got by at United with his undoubtabley high talent but sometimes it's just not good enough when you can't put it to good use, which I think is the case in his current situation. Everytime he has been given a chance this season, he shoudl be grabbing it by the scruff of the neck, but he hasn't. It looks to me that he is content just to play a bit-part role at United and pick up his pay cheque at the end of the week.

I think he offers very little to the team atm. Maybe he needs a good run of games to get back to last seasons form, but that just isn't going to happen with Welbeck (fantastic attitude on the pitch) and Hernandez (same goes for Chich) lurking around.

It concerns me that a striker so far down the pecking order is probably getting paid an extortionate amount of money for playing such a little part. I would prefer that money be used on someone who can come in and when given the chance, look like they want to prove a point. Berbatov is a stroller, he always has been for United, his great talent is going to waste because of his half arsed attempts on the pitch. If he give half the effort that Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez gives, he would have been a special player for us. But hey....

I wanted to sign Berbatov when he was at Spurs as much as any one else, but it just hasn't worked out for him at United as I, and probably everyone else thought it would. I think we should cut our losses, call it a day and bring someone else in who's willing to fight for a place in the starting line-up.

Definitely true but that's the way of the World, same goes for Torres, Carroll etc etc.

I get much more pissed off if I buy a top of the range car that keeps breaking down than I would if I bought a 99 Skoda Octavia for pittance... obviously, because I expect more, same goes for footballers and their transfer fees.

You mean like Berbatov is doing?
