More to the point, there was no newbies / promotion back then.
Hence pricks like me and Chief Torn Rubber's presence!

He'll be slightly more effective on the treatment table than he has been on the field lately. Hoping this leads to a renewed focus on the in-form Michael Carrick and pushing Pogba and Morrison whilst we wait for Cleverley.

Maybe the fact he is overweight isnt helping his injuries.
He doesnt exactly look in prime physical condition
Fergie will give Ando every chance. He's not like he's some washed up midfielder that has constant injury troubles.
How could you say that? The treatment table will clearly collapse under big fat Anderson's weight, nobody benefits from that!
SAF will play the twins in midfield, might even play TK and Lindegaad before playing these two. It must be something he is seeing that we are not and I trust SAF on this btw due to his track.
Obvious hyperbole guys. Relax!

I haven't seen anything from Pogba this season in the Reserves or in his brief appearances in the Carling Cup to suggest he's anywhere near ready to start playing regular PL and CL football.
Morrison isn't a midfielder.
& Make Scholesy the poster's dream come true? You don't saySAF will play the twins in midfield.....!
He might end up there though, the same way a Schweinsteiger did.I haven't seen anything from Pogba this season in the Reserves or in his brief appearances in the Carling Cup to suggest he's anywhere near ready to start playing regular PL and CL football.
Morrison isn't a midfielder.
Morrison can definitely play midfield as the most advanced of a midfield three, they kind of did it in the youth team last year with him, Tunnicliffe and Pogba. Pogba was deep-lying and Tunnicliffe box to box, it had a nice balance to it. Not sure Morrison could play in a two man midfield however.
another one..... Some mothers do have em...He'll be slightly more effective on the treatment table than he has been on the field lately......

Dare..DareDare I say...Anderson at left back?
Dare I say...Anderson at left back?
Him being out till Feb is just depressing news given Cleverley is also injured. So that leaves just Fletcher and Carrick. And I Fletcher has been rubbish this season. Maybe Fergie will give one of the kids a go. Doubt it will be against Newcastle though.
The way some people go on you'd swear Anderson has never had a good game for us. This is a player who has bossed the midfield in games, the talent is quite clearly there. Fair enough on the consistency arguments, one day he'll be spraying passes and then his passing goes to shit. But to completely write him off is ridiculous, 23 years old lads, cop on a bit.
And he clearly isn't fat or unfit. No chance Fergie would give him a look in if he was.
I doubt it. Jones, Rooney and Park will play central midfield before any of the kids have a go at it, and there's still Giggs and Gibson that you didn't mention.
Don't know how I managed to miss out those two!
But I'd honestly prefer anyone but Rooney in the centre. We need him to start getting back amongst the goals and do teams damage from advanced positions, and given the wide players another attacking body to play off.

I think we'll have to have a fair few more injuries before we need to put Rooney there again. We've got carrick and fletcher as first choice, giggs and park able to come in and then have the likes of jones, valencia and gibson if need be. Plus Clev might be back in a few weeks, so we're alright for options.
Another one to avoid. We need balance at the moment. I actually do understand putting a youngster into the first team isn't easy and should be done carefully but if it comes down to players like Valencia playing in centre midfield, then I'd rather see youngsters like Pogba get a chance. At least he's at home there. Too much chopping and changing with players out of position just leads to disjointed performances, unless they're complete all rounders.
