Holy shit, Aporkalypse, that is a big steaming pile of self-righteous, self-persecution bullshit. Wow.
Great find!
highly embarrasing.
but obviously the stupid does not think so.
Please Do withdraw Gerrard....we have a better chance.
Evra came across as a bit of a twat during the whole French thing at the world cup, but Evra's character is not the issue.
...why because he acted as captain representing the other lads?
He did noting wrong whatsoever.
The entire debacle is due to an idiot manager and worse Football Association.

You don't strike in the middle of a world cup. It's was a farcical bit of ego posturing by a group of millionaires, I agree completely with moses. Even Fergie slagged him for it.

It wasnt the middle of the World Cup, France was eliminated already.
It was STILL a farcical bit of ego posturing. They were supposed to be there for the fans..Who'd spent considerable money and effort getting there. I couldn't give a shit if one of their feelings were hurt, you don't do that.
A) I'm pretty sure they weren't. (Edit: they weren't)

There are many ways to go about doing that that don't involve throwing a massive girly strop and refuse to train when you're still in (and they were still in) a World Cup, willions thousands of fans there to see you. It was the actions of a group of teenagers.

If the Prime Minister just refused to run the country because someone had been nasty to him, he'd rightly get a shit load of stick for it.
Domenech is the same prick that strong-armed Makelele after the latter's retirement from international football. feck him. I supported the players despite the whole thing being a debacle.
Yeah, it's the main reason that I've never quite gotten past Keane leaving the Ireland camp in Saipan. Even if his relationship had broken down with McCarthy and even if he did think we were setting ourselves up to fail, he should have seen it through. It might be a once in a lifetime experience for them but it's much the same for the supporters who shell out to go see them.
Bollocks, he was completely right about that. Domenech snitched on Anelka to get some heat off himself to justify the WC elimination.
What you don't grasp (and I cannot blame you for it since most of the sheepish French public opinion does not either) is that the players also did that for the fans, to tell them what atmosphere they had to prepare in under Domenech
Anelka was absolutely distraught to be made the scapegoat and thrown out of his first ever WC and his last one considering his age. A case could be made his club level stooped from then onwards, never to recover.

I don't know, a Frenchman who is chosen to lead his group choosing to protest, not exactly a huge shock.
Every single member of the team, without exception, agreed on the strike. So it didn't really matter who the captain was at that point.
Not the debate to be had here. This has nowt to do with Evra's character, it just blurs the issue.
As far as I'm aware Keane was the only one to storm out while Evra was merely one to strike amid a collective movement of players. Nothing to do with it whatsoever.
it is you who are blurring the issue.
Not saying it was shocking, or where he ranked in a list of twats.
With one game left to salvage your World Cup campaign, even with the slimmest chance to go through, and thousands of fans their to see you, you fecking well wait. Especially if you haven't got any economical grievances to moan about. They weren't exactly striking to survive.
By having a different opinion to you? You who read that satire earlier and took it as true? Excellent.
Well, all I mean to say is that it's a strong part of their culture, they protest more readily than nearly any country. So to them it may not have been so extreme as it seemed to others. Didn't they go and train later by themselves after the official training time was over?
Nothing to do with what? I'm not trying to say they're the same, simply that I can see why both parties got stick. Keane's was arguably a much less principled dispute that that of the French players too.
you are a joke moses..![]()
