Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

Come on you lanky streaks of piss, another half to go how about a bit of faith?

COME ON UNITED!!!

Park off, Rafael on.

Think about getting one of Berbatov and Rooney off for Welbeck/Hernandez too, both have been quiet with Rooney being more spectacularly shite.

I'm fed up with the system United play, it's so 1990's. If we can't attack the flanks and spam them with crosses were fecked. We offer nothing through the middle at all.

In all seriousness, is anyone else a bit fed up of 4-4-2? Especially when one of the 2 in midfield is 37. I'd love to see a different system used for away games and even at home against the better sides.

Can't very well have 3 in midfield now can me? Don't have the manpower.

If we're playing a top side away or a team with a superior midfield, I'm one of those who believes 4-5-1-/4-3-3 is the way to go.
I really really hope we start with a 3 man midfield on Sunday because if we go into that game all big and brave and 442, things could go bad.

Rooney will score.

Or he won't.

Hope he does. A similar performance in the second half and the abuse he gets will be amazing. He's been absolutely rubbish though today.

Nani is foregoing the simple pass again, fine if we're a couple of goals up but not level or behind.

I've been advocating us buying a proper defensive midfielder and playing 4-3-3 for some time now.

We doesn't look good, to many are to pedestrian and we don't pass the ball around quick enough. Rooney look frustrated and that's not a good sign and Park have been mediocre.

We need to start playing as a team and use our better technique and movement.

We need Valencia and Nani on the wings if we want to get any joy out of 442. Park makes it narrow and he hasn't had the best half.

Rooney has been pretty poor - particularly considering his behaviour this week.

We've been very poor so far. The team really need to up their game in the second half if we hope to get a result from this.

Rooney has been absolutely awful so far. His first touch has been off and he's not looking like his usual self. I expected him to be sharper tonight, as well.

Anyway, I think we do need to make some changes. Despite how poor he has been, I'd stick with Rooney for the time being. If he can improve, he could change the game for us. I'd take of Berbatov, who has been rather useless in today's game, and bring on Welbeck, to add a bit of extra enery and improve the speed of our attacks. If Rooney doesn't up his game, then bring on Hernandez for him at around the hour mark.

Think this game shows that United needs a CM, Jones has been looking good when playing there, but due to injuries he has to play in the defence. Both Giggs and Carrick hasn't got pace enough at least in this kind of game.

What I'd give for Cleverley and Anderson/Carrick in the middle and us playing like the beginning of the season..

Grow some balls you lot.

An iffy first half doesn't mean we can't win. A good team talk better get improved performances from our key players. I can see us scoring if we sharpen up our decision making from midfield to attack. Their desire is clearly outmatching ours so far, but that can all change.

If we had someone in midfield who could play 2 games a week and spread the ball around then we'd do that but we don't so we don't.

Soon enough the 'out early after half time' tactic will wear off.
