Anderson

Anderson has the vision and ability to be able to replace Scholes if he can keep himself fit in my opinion he's one of our best midfielders now and in the future. The problem we have is we don't have a defensive midfielder strong enough to give Anderson the freedom he needs to dictate a game with his passing.

 - WOW - what are you basing that on then?

Ask anyone outside of mufc what they think of Anderson and they will tell you he's horseshit. Opposition fans even give credit to unspectacular players like Fletcher, Park etc because they can see their worth in a team. For some reason how United fans and everyone else views Anderson is on a completely different radar.
That is because they are obviously blind to his qualities and his yearly improvements. .

FFS!

He has been out for months and playing without proper fitness. Can't blame him! Can't expect him to return from injury so early and just start dictating play.

He will need games to get back to his form he showed during the start of season

He's been out for 4 months, has trained less than a week.

Let's get some perspective.

It wasn't surprising, was it?

Newcastle defended very well and didn't give us too much time on the ball, all United players were average yesterday and - the most important - he is back in the squad after two months.

I didn't expect he would change something yesterday.

Anderson will come back, look pretty good in a few games, be hailed as the problem to our midfield, get tired because he eats too many pies, and get injured again.

Anderson is an average player when he is consistent, which isnt often.

He will never be the answer to the midfield "problem". He simply isnt good enough to command and dominate big games against the good teams and players, and I dont think he ever will be.

Tough crowd on Anderson as always

I remain hopeful for him. And he is well above average when he is on form.

Just need him to stay fit and get a run of games. It probably wont happen though

Nothing to do with last night or his recent return. I just think 6 years is long enough at United for him to be an established, experienced and in the team all the time player. He's not. He's nowhere near it.

I think if we had all of the lads fit he wouldnt get into the team.

I'd keep him as a squad player yeah, but would I pin my hopes on him to be a United Lycnh pin? Not at all.

What does that even mean?

When he's on top of his game he's a lot better than average. I can tell you that for a fact.

He's brilliant when he's on top form...once every 10 games. I struggle to see why there's such a big difference in his play from game to game at times.

To be fair its the second time this week he's just been thrown into an overrun side desperately seeking goals after a 3 month layoff.

Not REALLY his fault.

Not saying the loss was his fault, but he could barely do the simple things when he came on, again.

sorry , to clarify , When he is consistently fit it should read.

I think he's no better than average. He is not on top of his game enough to be a dominant force in the United engine room.

So people are really judging him after his second game back from a 4 month lay off?

EDIT - Despite being in fantastic form before he got laid up?

Where the hell did you lot get a 4 month break for him? He was out for 4 weeks, not months.

It was 4 weeks. He was good 4 months ago indeed, but just before his last injury he was terrible.

Anderson deserves stick but to say he's average is stupid.

Inconsistent is how i'd describe him. Can go from being very good to piss poor in a matter of games which is annoying to say the least.

And in all honesty, this is the make or break year for him. Well we have all been saying it since 2 years ago anyway. If he doesn't come good this season, time to offload him imo.

Yeah....we got enough CM cover anyway eh.

You lot are judging him too soon. Against Blackburn, we were commending him for organizing the midfield and now, he's basically shit. Inconsistency? perhaps.

I've never seen Anderson fire out the blocks when returning from injury so I'd like to see him have a run of games and actually stay fit. His best game I can remember this season was at Bolton. Stroking short passes all over the park. It was insanity but it showed what the boy has in his locker. I still have faith but at his age, there will still be some frustrating times. He really needs to stay injury-free this time.

This injury is/was another huge setback for him.

I think Fergie will give him one more season to step it up. What Anderson has to do now is get fit, play some regular first team football, stay injury free and have a good pre-season. Then if we're still having these discussions same time next year, then it'll be safe to say he's no better than Kleberson.

The injury is irrelevant in terms of the chances of his United career actually taking off, he wasn't good enough before his injury. I really hope he doesn't start on Sunday, don't want a repeat of last time...

Nobody outside the club rates him, and i know that's not really important but when most fans don't rate him either there is a big cause for concern. He's been here for 4 and a half years now and has been a bigger dissappointment than any other big money signing of recent times. He shows flashes of what he can do followed by games where he looks incapable of doing any of the footballing basics to a premier league standard. Also, after 4 and a half years here, we still don't know what position he should be playing in permanently. Big problem.

We'll when him and Cleverley was in the middle we looked half as shit and we played good football. So don't know where your going.

It is irrelevant because he was subbed on into a losing side, with no match fitness. What you expect, Zidane?!
