Manchester United vs. Liverpool

I don't reckon Ferguson will risk starting Hernandez in this game. Maybe as supersub to score his usual lucky goal, but not a starter. Welbeck will start (20 yards) ahead of Rooney who will help "can't tackle" Scholes and "won't tackle" Carrick out in the middle.

As much as everyone hates Gerrard, Suarez and Bellamy these three will determine how Ferguson sets out his team. Not the other way round.

Just the right Dumbstar mix of bitterness and stupidity.

Given our dominance over you at Old Trafford, I don't think Ferguson will be setting up his team to nullify your threats.

Unlike when you played like the away team at Anfield 3 weeks ago.

Liverpool will set up in that dog turd 5-4-1 formation, hoping to nick a goal. They won't go for it.

Well that's completely wrong. As I said before, the United line-up choices will be formulaic - we'll go 4-4-2 without any real surprises. Dalglish is the one who's got decisions to make, especially being away.

Is what I would've said if your opinion on anything was worth debating

I hope Carroll starts.

I hope Kuyt doesn't play. He just loves scoring against us

That's not really true is it, scored a hat trick of tap ins last season and one goal which De Gea probably should of saved this season. Saying Kuyt loves scoring against us is like saying Berbatov loves scoring against them

This would be my team at the moment........

Team
Starting XI:

332184_Manchester_United.jpg

Bench: Amos, Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Giggs, Young, Welbeck (English bench :) )

Not in the squad: Kuszczak, Fabio, Fryers, Pogba, Anderson, Park, Berbatov, W.Keane
Out: Vidic, Fletcher, Lindegaard, Owen

Predicition: 1-0 (Nani)

Berbs would surely be on the bench and come at 75 mins and score the winner.

Neither of Cleverley or Pogba takes part of the Reserve-game tonight vs City, so both might be in contetion for a spot on the bench for this game

Would love to see them both getting minutes towards the end.
I'm mostly torn between having Hernandez as a starter or an impact sub. If Giggs starts I'd wager Javier does too.

The bit in bold is fair enough, I deal with enough superiority complexes in my bank too. Have been doing so for 11 years. :)

Carroll to push up for long balls to his head (as you were caught out when Kuyt scored). Suarez and Bellamy either side of him to ensure you don't defend a high line, thus leaving your midfield exposed. And Gerrard to exploit that big gap in your midfield, thus Rooney coming back to help and isolating your striker, which will have to be Welbeck for his work effort and pace.

United/Liverpool from 2007/08 is on ESPN Classic tonight from 6.05pm

I'd say it's very true. I'm sure if you asked him he'd say "Yes, I do love scoring against Manchester United".

Does everyone think Rafael is the right option at right-back?

It seems as though much of Bellamy's success comes doen that side - just curious who people thought would match up best against him (since he is, I believe, their most dangerous player).

I personally think Raf will do fine - especially if he has Valencia to support him...

In saying that, an early yellow for Rafael would mean a change needed...

Scholes needs to start especially after his performance against Chelsea when he came on.

I agree with you, and I think Rafael will be fine. His pace should be enough to deal with Bellamy as long as he doesn't make rash decisions. There will no doubt be times when Rafael gets done by a quick hit-and-run from Bellamy when he's on the turn, but if he can resist the urge to pull him back and just try to match his stride and come inside a bit, Bellamy will get a lot less success and become frustrated IMO.

Either way, it could so be that Rafael is our only available option for this game regardless. Smalling and Jones could well be out anyway. However, it wouldn't surprise me if Valencia started at Right Back, with Nani (if fit) in front of him and Young/Park on the other side.

I want Rafael to start though. His last two performances have been very good, I'd maybe argue that he was our best player against Liverpool and it was hard to fault him against Chelsea as well.

Rafa is a good defender at times but he makes far too many rash decisions and rash tackles. The last thing we need is him getting an early booking.

For that reason I think ferguson might look at something else for right back.
It's a critical decision as bell end is one of their most potent attackers

Tackles vs:
Code:
Chelsea Arsenal Bolton Blackburn
8/9 4/6 3/3 4/6

His last four PL appearances. Say what you will but he's improving his defensive side in a very respectable manner.

so there is a minutes silence before this game for the victims of the munich disaster? can only hope the travelling liverpool fans can observe it. there is enough bad blood around this game

Don't think so, I think they are just wearing black armbands instead just incase. So I heard.

Yeah Rafaels defensive side is coming on leaps and bounds. Every time I watch him recently he's not afraid to get in there still but he's winning the ball almost every time. Good strong challenges and coming away with the ball time and time again. He's looking a lot stronger.

I agree he is improving all the time and he will only get better with age and experience.

But he still has a knack of giving away silly free kicks and getting booked. We can't afford him getting an early yellow tomorrow.

I wont be concerned if I see his name the team sheet. Its Evans that makes me worry more these days.

If we can get an early goal I can see us beating em 3 or 4, otherwise be a hard fought 2-1 victory

Yep, I agree. They'll play the 'sit back and counter attack' game, using Bellamy's pace which has hurt us before when he played for City.

We'll cope but we've got to be good with possession. They are better away from home too this season.

Old Trafford is going to be electric tomorrow - can't wait!

The fact that SAF trusted him away at Chelski, and he repaid that trust with a good performance, means he must be a certain starter tomorrow.

He'll get right under Bellamy's skin as well. :)

Me either be proper atmosphere tomorrow. United 3-0 and Suarez sent off nice :boring:

Great Dumbstar is back. Please provide us with one of your, ever so accurate, predictions.

It's going to be a tight and cagey game but reckon we will sneak a 1-0 victory. I know it's unlikely, but reckon Evra will bag the winner...77th minute.

They would observe it. I don't think either set of fans are crass enough to disrespect any football tragedy
