Paul Pogba

He has agreed to sign for Juventus by the sounds of it! :(

EDIT: Still not 100% if this is true, but here is one article.

So if that article is to be believed they are offering less than we are but paying his agent €2mil.

Not a huge surprise if he leaves us, is it? Shit happens. And let's be honest, he's an idiot.

So are they sending us Krasic in exchange for shits and giggles?

Good riddance! If he is totally money driven then he might as well leave now.

He's a great talent but he is nothing more than a talent at the moment, if he wants to leave there's nothing you can do about it. As De Gea said when he looks around the dressing room and sees players like Giggs and Scholes he knows how lucky he is to be here, if Pogba doesn't want that it's his loss.

Isn't One Million Euros a year actually less than the rumoured £20,000 a week contract we've offered him though?

He is a silly boy. I still blame agents, why in hells name would you not want to stop at Old Trafford. Agents are always thinking of themselves and not the players they represent.

I agree with your opinion completely. However, he only has to look as far as Tom Cleverley or Danny to realize that opportunities are given to those who stay and work hard.

I know the agent has most definitely swayed his mind but surely the major deciding factor was money.

Oh yes , definitely money, United will always give the good kids their chance.

Money has taken over winning now. The players are more interested in the size of their bank balances than winning medals.

I'm actually wondering i it is a case of he had to pay his agents fees, as in he now has a legal obligation too and we refused to pay his agent. So it works out better for him.

Obviously, we don't want anyone at the club who's motivated primarily by money but goddamit losing morrison and pogba in the same season is such a fecking kick in the balls. Depressing :(

Not confirmed yet.

Man, that is depressing. Two bright prospects gone, but that's football for ye.

(If he does go that is).

So very true. Michael Douglas was wrong, greed is not good.

Well if this is how he behaves on his first major contract, how will he be when when he might be established, we cant build a team around him when we don't know what he might do in 3-4 years time at his next renewal,

I'm glad for the academy rule changes now, we can get talent like we did with beckham again without hassle, and they are more likely to stay loyal

Duncan Castles is usually spot on, I would say he is gone.

I know, if you told me at the start of the season that we'd lose Pogba and Morrison, that Fletcher had a serious illness putting his career in doubt and that Paul Scholes would come back out of retirement I would have laughed at you.

:(

I blame AC, once he gets involved in these youth threads it's all down hill.

What is most annoying is that the promise of both Pog and Morrison probably stopped Fergie from making the signing of a CM last summer an absolute necessity.

I'm waiting til Thursday before panicking, but it might be telling that the MUTV commentators haven't mentioned him yet. Normally when a regular is missing they'll talk about it...

He hasnt done anything to prove he will be a loss in the short term, we'll be fine in the long term.
Its annoying if a player with potential leaves... but I really dont understand the amount of attention a reserve team player is getting.
Its not that we cant afford 20k/week or even 50k/week. We wont bend over for some kid who has done nothing to justify wanting 'x' amount.
A good stance to have imo. Dont care if it means losing a player or two.

There are plenty of players around. We'll be fine.

Lets not go nuts here, im sure the development of Anderson and Cleverley hold that mantle.

Ok it looks like Pogba might be off but if SAF and our coaching staff feel hes a bit away from a starting role then who are we to question it? At the end of the day both Morrison and Pogba (by the looks of it) have taken it upon themselves to believe the hype surrounding them and are looking for a new start. Both have the potential to be great but lets not forget a talented 16-18 year old can become a fairly average 20 something old

Why would any young black player want to play in Italy? The racist abuse is fecking terrible over there.

I agree with everything you have said mate, but it still feels strange that the two brightest stars in our youth ranks seemingly appear to have agreed to leave our great club.

Well we've seen that plenty of times. He could be great, but he could also not
progress. That is a risk we are taking.

Neither were going to be heavily involved in the first team this season anyway. It wouldve been a loss if we had moved someone on to make room for either of them, which didnt happen.

Well i think it proves that no one is bigger than the club, not a world class superstar or a youngster who thinks he deserves better from the club. I may be in the minority but i think it sends the correct sort of message to the other youngsters at the club - have the right attitude or no amount of talent will save you.

It's not that simple though. For all we know, SAF could have had big plans for Pogba and Morrison and would not want to sign midfielders to allow those two a good phasing period.

Now, we end up with neither the youngsters nor the CM(s) we need to complete the squad.

This episode takes me back to Kanchelskis in 95. I wonder how his career went from that point?
