Classic if my Aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. Bottom line he is 23. If he is still like this in 3 years time of course he'd be gone. Our team isn't run by fools. That is why there is a obviously good reason why they gave him a new contract. Patience and time is what will reveal it.

a new contract could be used to keep any potential transfer fee alot higher than it would have been if the player is out of contact, thats fairly obvious.

No, but I think watching them we see that Cleverley is clearly the better player out of the two.

That's a ridiculous thing to say. It is by no means 'clear'. Cleverley has played 8 games.

I think he has had enough chances to prove himself and not delivered for various reasons - but I cant actually see anyone willing to give us any decent money for him so probably he will get one more season.

Im getting impatient with our players picking up injuries and earning huge wages. It looks like they talk the talk but dont walk the walk.

That haircut cost Anderson Ebreu what little injury resistance he had previously -

his powers of recovery are all on the barber's floor

Just thought I'd dispel the myth that before he was injured this season he wasn't playing well.

As you can see, he gets about so well and his short passing game is excellent and he recieved more passes than anyone in 5 of these 8 games which gives you an idea of his positioning.

This was our first game without either him or Carrick. Says a lot I think.

I'm not arguing about his fitness. I'm arguing against the people who like to rewrite history when it comes to him and claim that he hasn't played well for us. The back end of last season he was quality and the start of this season he was quality.

He's barely 24, there are so many youngsters who have trouble with injuries until their mid twenties and have a really strong peak. I don't see anyone calling for Cleverley to be sold because of his injuries despite him having a worse record than Anderson and being only a year younger.

Cleverley:
2007 in the reserves, injured for 7 months.
2009 for Leicster, shoulder injury ruled him out for the season and cut his loan short.
2010, Knee Ligaments at Watford in April ruled him out for the season.
2011 Wigan. Two long injury spells cut his season to 25 games.
2011/12 United. Currently missed a total of around 5 months of the season with injuries.

Shall we sell him too?

is cleverly a fat feck? - because anderson looks like he's a wet nurse. injuries happen it's how the player deals with them. his fitness is shit which leads to injuries. so you'd keep him and sign him to an extension? his prem appearances have gone down almost every year since he signed and he hasn't really improved. so who would you keep , anderson or cleverly?

We have to choose one now? Don't be ridiculous. We have two very talented young midfielders who if they can get over their injuries could be the making of a fantastic midfield in 2 or 3 years.

Fat bastard isn't he?

He's a stocky little bugger who uses his frame and strength to hold off the ball better than anyone else in our squad, he's just like Rooney in that respect. He's built differently to the likes of Giggs or Cleverley who are Ectomorph's, then you have your Welbeck's and Vidic who are Mesomorphs, then your Anderson's who are Endomorphs.

So assuming he doesn't start another league game this season (a fair assumption I'd say) the following is his record of league starts in the five seasons that he's been with us:

07/08 - 16
08/09 - 11
09/10 - 10
10/11 - 14
11/12 - 8

How many games can we reasonably expect him to start next season? I'd say no more than 15 personally.

We really can't afford that when we have so many issues with the rest of our central midfielders in terms of age, illness and inexperience. If Scholes and Pogba are still here next season then that's seven CM's before you make a signing and there's the 25 man squad to consider which really becomes a challenge for us next season.

I think he's going to stay though so don't by any means rule out the possibility that we won't actually sign a central midfielder this Summer.

Sorry to all the people still believing in Anderson, I admire your patience, but I don't see him at United next season.

What could we expect to get for him though given his appearance and fitness record and would another club be willing to match the salary that we pay him?

I think you'd have to be mad to pay more than £5m for him but I suppose just clearing him off the wage bill would be a big positive for us and might make it worthwhile taking such a huge hit on the transer fee.

You could probably fetch about £10million, with a bit of luck. That's the only reason I see him staying, if we can't get a decent return on an expensive investment.

What a waste of fantastic potential... Sigh.

07/08 - 16 (8 Subs) Season Total: 38 - Aged 19
08/09 - 11 (6 Subs) Season Total: 38 - Aged 20
09/10 - 10 (4 Subs) Season Total: 23- Aged 21
10/11 - 14 (4 Subs) Season Total: 30 - Aged 22
11/12 - 8 (2 Subs) Season Total: 16 - Aged 23

He's been involved in just over half of all our games in 5 seasons despite having competition with Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs, Hargreaves (for a seaons), Gibson and now Cleverley.

Not bad for a 23 year old. Not bad at all considering what we have won in that period.

What a waste of fantastic potential... Sigh.

He still has plenty of potential, just doesn't seem to have the character to take a look at himself and realise he's going nowhere. The best form we saw was when his contract was running low, he got a fat new renewal and promptly became shite again. Also, the injuries are beyond a joke. How can we expect to build a team around a fella who's out every couple of weeks? A likeable character, but not Manchester United quality, anyone who says otherwise is deluded.

Yeah, and he's the only one who wears one of those in our squad. ]

the one i found was from a few weeks ago not a few yrs ago in preseason. you want preseason fat check the ones after him wearing the bro. it's not what he's wearing it's how he fills it out. he's a fatty and will be when he returns from his injury.

I'd keep Tom because he's a local lad and from the academy and will want to stay with us just like , Neville and Scholes.

I'm actually not having any more debate with you, you sound like an 11 year old Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

Jesus he's huge.

Are you actually serious. His face is as slim as I have seen it and he's wearing a baggy jacket. The only tight material he has on are around his chest and shoulders and again he's looking trim.

Jesus he's huge.

TBH - he's been hurt so often he's a bit bigger but his problem is he's always hurt and it's always his legs so it's an unending cycle. he comes into preseaon like he's been at the buffet until they close.

just fecking about really - but he's not getting fitter as he ages or it seems more disciplined.

He's not the sharpest tool in the box. He may have genuinely been fooled by the baggy top. As implausible as that sounds.

Let's hope he's not pictured on the team bus then.... he might actually mistake the bus for his arse or something.
