Champions League Quarter-finals (second leg)

Anyone who thinks it's anything more than a ref having a poor 45 minutes is a fecking idiot.

And it was poor, and favoured the home team. Shit happens, but that doesn't mean it's a Frederick Forsyth novel.

They're both penalties anyway.

Just because the second one might not be given in the PL doesnt make it it good challenge. If you're going to hold someones shirt before the kicks taken and continue to hold it when the balls coming in you're taking a huge risk.

I thought it was really stupid from a top defender, a very experienced one too.

Well yes and it's standard practice for most teams not just Barcelona. Nesta's desperate shirt-pulling compensating for his declining physical attributes. As Souness says, his starting position was poor - a yard away from where he should have been. The sensible thing for the ref would have been to blow up to retake the corner and nip both things in the bud.

Do they? As for the penalty if the ref saw the shirt pull from the get go then he should have stopped play and told Nesta to leave it out. Barca definitely obstruct from set-pieces and the ref hasn't said anything, you can't have it both ways.

cant think of one wrong decision by ref, except a throw in given to milan

I think he has given the home side almost every call they've made, not so in reverse. Do you really think Nesta's was the only hand on an oppo shirt in that game? Honestly?

 FCBarca.. Just because you keep saying that they should've gotten 3 penos in Milan doesnt make it true.

Who cares about the PL, or any other game at all. They were arguably pens,, but like I said, why was that the only shirt pull penalised in the half? That's my point.

Robinho's dive was obvious but Ibra I couldn't tell from the angle. Looked like it might've been a penalty

When did people get so paranoid about refereeing decisions, they're human. They'll make mistakes and they will subconciously be influenced by others i.e. crowd reaction etc., get over it.

Just watched it again it was a clear penalty. Mascherano did not get the ball.

Would have been harsh to give Ibra a pen. Didn't look like much. Robinho seemed to dive on autopilot but realized how ridiculous it was from him and stood right back up.

Game over!
Iniesta 3-1

that was a foul by the gk himself and he gets a fk :wenger:

goal kick lead to a goal.

Not only are they good, they're also extremely lucky.

What a first touch by Iniesta there to set himself up for the shot.. outstanding player
