Juventus convinced battle for Man Utd's Pogba swinging back in their favour
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Wed, 03/28/2012 - 11:22
Juventus chiefs remain confident of signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The 18 year-old Frenchman was mooted to be leaning towards penning a new deal with United, amid reports agent Mino Raiola would be in the country this week for contract talks.

However, Sky Italia says Juve officials are convinced Pogba remains unsettled at Old Trafford and will be joining them.

For Juve, a decision is expected from Pogba in days, not months.

"amid reports agent Mino Raiola would be in the country this week for contract talks."

That sentence makes me laugh. An agent is rumored to vista a city so the player must be leaving his club.

Its rumored I will be in Manchester next week so the obvious conclusion is that I will be appointed the new manager of Manchester United.

So basically no FACTS at all in a pointless article written purely to provide content on a website that is known to be full of baseless bullshit.

Back to where we were about 20 pages ago then!

What's wrong with it? He was probably asked if he thought they'd do well if they moved, and as he probably believes both are good players he says "yes". If anything it seems that he's trying to help United sell Berbatov (not that I think Juve will buy a striker based on what Macheda has to say, but you get the point), and the Pogba bit is basically just a "Yeah, he's a good player of course he'd do well in Italy".

Well he has feck all else to do. Like play football does he?

I thought when he was banished before he wasn't even playing for the reserves but Pogbas played for the reserves since the fulham game so basically no sod knows and as much as we don't like it, we'll have to wait. Some don't like it but they have to deal with it.

If sitting on the bench watching us take it to City this season, with all their money and all our injuries, doesn't make him realise what it means to play for Man United, what an honour it is that he's being offered, then however good he is he's not what we want.

We could win or lose the league from here but this is what it's all about. We're the famous Man United.

And we're going to Wemberlee.

For the Charity Shield :)

Fergie considering drawing a line under contract battle with rebel Pogba

Sir Alex Ferguson is growing increasingly exasperated with Paul Pogba’s refusal to sign a new contract at Manchester United.
The French midfielder, 19, is rated as one of the brightest prospects at Old Trafford, but Ferguson has so far failed to convince him to commit to the club beyond the end of the season, as Juventus hover with the offer of a four-year deal worth £20,000 a week.
The United boss has tried both the carrot and the stick to persuade Pogba to sign in recent weeks, calling him up to the first-team squad and then making him train with the reserves.
After the France Under 19 international played for more than half an hour at Wolves, Ferguson indicated that he would be involved against Fulham last week.
Instead, Pogba was left out of the squad and made to play for the reserves against Everton after rejecting another request from his manager to sign the new contract.
He was then included on the club’s weekend break at St Andrews before returning to the bench at Blackburn on Monday night as Ferguson once again tried to win the teenager over.
A few weeks ago it looked certain that Pogba would join Juventus, with his agent Mino Raiola set to pocket £1.7million commission — in contrast to United who would receive only around £300,000 in compensation.
However, Pogba is said to be reconsidering his position and will keep his options open for now. Juve are still favourites to sign him if he leaves Old Trafford, but Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have also expressed interest.
Meanwhile, as United look to move eight points clear of faltering City with victory at home to QPR on Sunday, Ferguson believes that his players’ title pedigree is beginning to tell.
‘It’s down to experience,’ said Ferguson. ‘It never fazes them and they can handle it.’

more DM guff, but at the same time, i'd much prefer a Larnell Cole or Jesse Lingard to step up here to fill that creative void...Pogba's ran his course for me.

It looks like that the above Daily Fail article has been based on no new information, just rehashing the old shit.

All the while Pogba is involved with the first team, the signs are positive IMO.

No way in hell if he was blank refusing to sign a contract would we be giving him time and space on the bench, it would be petrucci instead.

Or Petrucci, Januzah. Perhaps this new Brazilian we've signed will also be good. I say if he doesn't want to sign we should draw a line under it and tell him we don't want him!

people need to get real. Those mentioned at 2/3 years younger....

The boy has been still making his mind up for about a month now. Get a grip Paul and sign up.

Does anyone here seriously believe that Fergie would grovel to this little upstart? He knows what life is like at United. If he's not committed to the club, he can feck right off to Juve.

TBH even if there are no quote I could imagine Fergie or United being frustrated now.

And even the fans.

If he has not agreed to sign yet.

A month? It's been like half a year!

I was referring to the fact that the title of this thread hasn't hanged for ages yet it is still getting constant attention. You're spot on though, not sure what he's playing at really.

While I was upset first, I'm rather easy now. If he signs, fine - if not, someone else will get a chance, maybe Petrucci, and thats fine for me.

No news is bad news?

I'm not getting worried about it, seems like we have made positive movements and the Juventus link has died right down. I wouldn't be surprised if things "looking positive" as Ferguson said was a bit of a verbal agreement or terms nearly being agreed and for them to decide that it's in nobodies interest to be messing about like this during the title run in. Get the season dusted up and then sort it all out.

Maybe the news about him staying/going is not being released due hmm tactical reasons. We might be sealing some deals with other clubs (muppet mode on) and keeping them in the dark might benefit us in the bargaining process. other than that....no, i dont see any reason of not announcing the decision apart from the fact the boy is still hesitating and there is no decision yet

It's time for a rant:

It's probably true that his agent wants him to move elsewhere to make more money, but at the end of the day, if Paul Pogba really wanted to be a Manchester United player, he could sign a deal and his agent couldn't do a damn thing about it.

Also, from what I've seen and read, he wants assurances of first team football. For Christ's sake, 2 Legends like Scholes and Giggs aren't assured places in the starting 11, neither are top players like Nani, Valencia and Evans and neither are players who actually achieved something in the Premier League before moving here like Young and Berbatov.

He is a kid with potential and nowhere near the level of what we already got. If he wants first team football, sign a deal and go on loan like Macheda, Cleverley and Welbeck did. Who is he to think that he can just walk into our first team? And if he thinks that he can walk into Juventus's or any other top teams midfield, he is an idiot and deluded.

It also begs the question that if he is already acting like this without ever actually doing anything, what will he be like if he does reach the level that is expected of him.

Chill the feck out yo, nothing's happened, no news is good news in these cases IMO.
