Manchester City vs. Manchester United

In truth we haven't been that poor. Well for the last 15 minutes they gained confidence and kept possession, but we defended well. We switched off on a corner and let them score ONE goal, which means nothing.
 
Haven't felt this shit since the last CL final. Hope things change second half.
 
feck it, we can still do this. Things haven't really changed that much, we just need a goal, and hold out for a draw. Tbh, I can still see us winning it. I would try and keep it tight for the first 25 mins of the second half, then hit them with everything in the last 20 mins. That's when they'll get nervous and make mistakes, if it's still one nil.

But the problem is, is that Park is the closest player to Rooney. He's going to be the key player in putting in Rooney, getting the ball to Nani, working opportunities etc and he simply doesn't have the strength or ability to do that role. Exactly the same thing happened in europe when we put Park in that central role and exactly the same when we played City last season in the cup. He'll work his socks off, and he suprised me at the start of the game but once they got in to it and we needed a decent attacking output from him and still need one, I just don't think he can do it from a central role.
 
Blaming individual performances in this game is ridiculous. Park has been great at pressing players. Giggs as well. Evra is his normal liability. Nasri doesn't even have to think about him when he has the ball.

We need to make a change. Not necessarily a player change, just a change in mentality. Need to attack with more men and better.

Things haven't changed? The team's whole mindset has to change. We need a goal! Beforehand we just needed to keep them out.

I agree but I think you'll find that goal means a lot.
 
We didn't have a single chance in that half, it was horrible. SAF needs to make some changes.
 
Park has done okay off the ball and in defense, but hes been awful in possession. Need a goal now, so he'll need to come off.

I think that mentality has to be thrown out the window now. We must have kept thinking to ourselves we only need to draw..we only need to beat everton..we only need to draw against wigan..and now we have lost the lead in the title race.

We should just play the way we usually do and thats to try and win games and give it a real go. Unforunately, now citeh can pick us off because they are the goal up now. Will be a real test of our midfield and defence to see if they can keep up on the break.
 
I wish we had a midfield. It would make things so much easier.

You can't just change the mentality with a "defensive winger" playing in a key position in the formation. That's the fecking problem.

In simple words its all ok defending and thats not the main problem but we have been piss-poor on counterattacks, no pace no sharpness. We defended against city in the fa cup but we were great on counterattacks. Welbeck with his pace and all...

My thoughts exactly. I'd have played Welbeck deeper, he can do the same hustling job with more strength and technique.
