Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

That he would tell everyone where he is going, then say he doesnt know. It just seems like he loves the media and all the attention bit too much.

I personally do not want him at the club, mainly because I think Kagawa would be a better fit.
Did he actually say that or did he say "It will be Manchester. The decision is going to be taken. You will soon all know." No dates, no specifics and the fact that Chelsea entered the fray means he will have a large decision to make and he's had great offers from Manchester and Chelsea. Last night was all about him having a farewell from Lille and it's fans.

I'm breaking rules now but here was his latest tweet: Not bad for a last game with my club of heart ... Thank you all I kiss you.

Now that I can read into him being loyal and affectionate whilst having a great relationship with fans if I want. Exactly the type of player I'd like at United.
Which is great as we're gonna sign him.

I would say Chelsea, United, City and maybe Arsenal showing an interest.

Four teams? Chelsea, Utd, City and Spurs, I imagine.

Could be Madrid or Barcelona. He'd fit in very well at Barca if they let Villa who will be 31 next season go.

James Robson looks at the pros for Eden Hazard by spurning Manchester City in favour of a switch to Manchester United

Eden Hazard finds himself in an almost identical position to Wayne Rooney eight years ago. It was after Euro 2004 that Rooney found himself the hottest property in European football. Every major club in the Premier League and on the continent was queuing up to sign the Everton striker after it became clear he would be leaving Goodison Park. Roman Abramovich would have loved to have added English football’s crown jewel to his Chelsea revolution. History tells us that Rooney could have cleaned up under Jose Mourinho, who won back-to-back titles at Stamford Bridge. Instead the Croxteth lad chose the established – and, rather than short-term gain, invested in the long haul. His reward was four Premier League titles and counting, the Champions League and a further two finals and a place in Old Trafford folklore. He was a whisker away from winning a fifth title last season, but overtook George Best and Dennis Viollet to move up to fourth place in United’s list of all-time leading goal scorers. Even after Chelsea’s Champions League triumph, do you think Rooney regrets the decision he made years ago? Hazard now finds himself having to choose between the new money of City and Chelsea or the established in United. Like Rooney he would be heading to United in the midst of another rebuilding job – but the potential rewards are massive. Ferguson is trying to create his third Champions League-winning team by injecting exciting young players into his squad. He has already beaten back Abramovich’s billions – and is determined not to be drowned out by City’s Abu Dhabi oil.

He has won almost twice as many titles as City and Chelsea combined – and neither of those can compare to his record for developing world class talent. Hazard’s power and trickery bears closer comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo than Rooney – and the Portuguese should be the example to prove that Old Trafford is the right move for him. Under Ferguson, Ronaldo matured from a fitful and impulsive raw talent into the best player on the planet, being crowned world footballer of the year after helping United to the Champions League in 2008. Hazard may have the faith in his own ability to go his own way. To try to help City break into Europe’s elite or become part of the second coming of the Roman army at Chelsea. The alternative option is the Rooney route – and the challenge of proving himself capable of becoming a legend among legends of Old Trafford.
Nice.

Let their only striker leave, sign another winger/attacking midfielder. Last season really showed they should do this. Nah.

Yeah, that could be a possibility and as Sparky said, Arsenal to. It doesn't have to be 4 PL teams.

There it is again, "Manchester". No "United".

Why is everyone assuming he's talking about MUFC?

SSN adament his preferred choice is us at the moment in their hourly quick update things.....I thought the guy just made a speech error when it was first(9AM one) said as something like "Eden Hazard confirms favoured destination is Manchester United, City and Chelsea being interested" where he should of paused a bit after Manchester.....but then they just said(11AM) something "Sights on move to Manchester United, one of 3 clubs interested"

So guaranteed we have no interest prob.

Nobody is, that was when he was asked where he would be playing next year. He said that. Both clubs are in for him. All we can do is speculate.

Sky Sports News have just mentioned that his preferred move is to United.

You and Pexbo are, for starters. With your comments about an offer from us being confirmed by Hazard. As quoted in this post.

Where is the information that we have had a bid accepted? The Lille president has said there has been no concrete offers.

SSN saying their sources indicate United as his preferred choice.

That was from Lille managing director Frederic Paquet. Not from his comments. He basically said it's upto Hazard now not them.

SSN saying their sources indicate United as his preferred choice.

Their 'sources' are probavly based on that french article yesterday and some twitter Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime who reposted this a million times.

Prediction - Hazard will delay his decision until after the Euros. There will be much foaming at the mouth muppetry and fawning over his undoubted talents, until he inevitably signs for one of our rivals on 250k a week and many here decide he wasn't that good anyway.

There no offers whatsoever at the moment according to most official stuff, discussions would start today, first business day post completion of French season.....just his "preferred" destination is us....which doesn't really mean much unless we back it up by coming close to what Chelsea and City offer, preferred should only allow a tiny discount really, if that really.

Oh right.

So Lille's director has confirmed that we've made an offer for Hazard that's acceptable?

I'm not being a smart arse here. Genuinely confused.

Edited the comment. The lille director said it's upto Eden where he''s going and we're in for him. City and Chelsea to as well as a forth club. I've probably read it all wrong in my muppet frenzy. I'm taking the mrs out (it's her 30th) keep positive people.

SSN reports when the story has been around for while.

Doesn't mean they only report the truth.

This. It became clear last summer that SSN are as bad, if not worse than the worst tabloids when it comes to transfer speculation. They are today's equivalent of those tip lines that were advertised on teletext.

We probably have not made an offer at all. we don't need this type of player, fergie probably watched someone else when he attended lille's match.

I wouldn't see that as a reason for us not being interested.

Fergie's always signing players in positions where we don't have an obvious weakness. I remember people saying the same thing when we signed Evra and Vidic, for example.

So if he signs for us then he'll be considered a great young advocate of the modern game, choosing history and tradition. If he signs for City or Chelsea he'll be considered a total mercenary cockteasing gimp who just wants money.

Fine lines eh?

SAF has a tendency to ignore how strong/weak a position is when it comes to really special talents, if he feels they are just that good then he'll go and buy them anyway, a bit like Jones last year.

He mentioned "Manchester" when talking to the Lille fans last night, according to what Lille have said he has offers on the table to choose from which are offers from City, United and Chelsea. United have had an offer accepted by Lille. They have also said that there is a fourth club involved now but have not specified who that may be.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7768704/Four-in-for-Hazard

Hmmm... Four clubs, none mentioned by name.

So am I right in saying that neither Paquet nor Hazard (or anyone else directly involved) have confirmed that Manchester United are interested in signing him?

I got a bit mixed up too. Basically it's been confirmed to sources although seemingly off the record that United, City, Chelsea and now another club are in for him. He said he has had good offers from "Manchester and Chelsea" every one is assuming he means Manchester the city as in both clubs and Chelsea the club. Although it is worth pointing out that on the Continent "Manchester" refers to United and City are always referred to as "City" much like we call Real Madrid "Madrid" and Atletico Madrid "Atletico".

There are other sources saying that his agent was in Manchester on Wednesday in talks with Gill and Ferguson which would also back up claims that he has had an offer.

There's a hell of a lot more smoke here than there ever was with Benzema, Ozil and Sneijder.

It's always been like that though. Putting so much hope into someone signing, only to snub us and sign for someone else is bound to end in bitterness.

So where does he play? (honestly, I have no idea, thought he was a winger in CR's mould).

He's a winger in terms of what Barcelona and City call 'wingers', not what we do.

But for me his best position would be in a 3 man midfield behind the main striker, basically being allowed to float around, a bit like Silva for City.

Kagawa has confirmed at a japanese press conference that he met with fergie. I saw the youtube video of it and it's genuine.
