Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

I hate conspiracy theories but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if:

1. City have offered a lot more than £110k a week. Seems a bit of a convenient leak.
2. They have also offered both him and his agent lucrative signing on fees.
3. They have asked him to make it clear it is between the three of us.
4. He chooses City sighting "Football" reasons and for "Reasonable Wage".
5. City look like they can now attract players without offering them silly wages. Great PR.

It just seems a little weird that City are offering "half of what Chelsea are offering".

You look great in that hat, mines a bit tight.

If we sign him, I'll do something stupid that I've never done before. Get a player name and number on the back of my shirt. I'll even buy the ridiculous 2012-2013 kit, and what with the price of kits and name printing these days should go 80% of the way to us actually signing him anyway. Number 7, too.
Get the white kit if you're getting one next season.

Havak even I was thinking of picking up a kit this season.. We signed DDG last year and I was really happy about that.. If we Sign Hazard I too will be buying a kit.. What's this white one you are talking about Lynk? Is it a new kit? or the same one from last season?

I haven't bought a kit since the 40 years commemoratory kit for winning the European Cup back in 1968 (All Blue) that I picked up with Best # 7 on the back.. I don't like the new kit however and am in need of a white kit so Lynk once again which white kit are you talking about? Is there a new white kit expected??

or is it this one? That will continue next season?

Doesn't seem true. Everyone in the thread is saying that it's a fake.

He didn't tweet anything. It's shopped.

Also, the first white kit will be ours next season

Are we waiting to see if Hazard signs for us before deciding if we are going to sign Kagawa for sure?

He tweeted (translated from french):

"training with little devils this morning ... it is a pleasure"

Anyone who doesn't know that Belgium are nicknamed "Red Devils" or affectionately known as "Little Devils" could be forgiven for making the link to United.

Cheers.. I will probably get that one then.. Don't quite like the Red and Blue kits..

The actual quote he said them in that order, I have to admit I started reading into it thinking did he name City first for a reason, maybe he named United second to be discreet and then I thought "no, go and get some fresh air he just named 3 teams and you are a paranoid wreck stuck in the transfer forum".

I did the same

Just a thought, but given that his team is no longer in the CL, he's had a crap season but remains undeniably talented and is just 27...would people's opinions change at all about Snjeider if he had a lower transfer fee and less weekly wage demands than Hazard?

Or are we only after potential/ youth now?

No chance.

His transfer fee would be lower, his wages wouldn't and he'd hold no future value. No dice. injury prone as well, he wouldn't stand a chance at Carrington

He is 28 next month and is kinda injury prone over the last two years.

Ageing player who hasn't played well for a while and can't play well in a 2-man midfield. No thanks.

Nah, Sneijder is too old/injury prone now - we're better off chasing hungry players like Hazard and Kagawa.

Of course you've been paranoid! He said City first because City is 2 syllable where as united is three so it's easier to say the shorter version first. :) And Chelsea is more difficult to pronounce for French speaker. :)

It's reported that his choice will be based on which position he will be playing (like he's the mighty O'Shea or something!)

They play a 4-3-3 sort of, but they have only one striker on the pitch. I know it isn't the only way to go, but if you look at us in last years in the the champions league we tend to go 4-3-3 away from home, resulting in dull 0-0 draws or boring 1-0 wins where we grind it out, and then play a 4-4-2 at home. In those big games, with hazard we would actually have someone who is suited to that number 10 role, and would offer a lot more variety than just shifting it out wide to Valencia or nani every time they get the ball (Rooney). With hazard/kagawa in that position we would actually see through passes into our striker, or quick play that not only goes to the wings but through the middle as well.

This season we were incredibly one dimensional. It worked most of the time, hitting it out to the wingers to cross it in but like against certain teams it just doesn't work that well. Also we weren't exactly that exciting of a team last season, we scored a lot of goals but that is because we scored a good percentage of our shots (read somewhere that we were the most clinical team in the league).

Anyways, the point is, we don't Have to switch from a 4-4-2, because it is still decent, but why would we settle for that when we can perhaps pose a bigger challenge in the champions league by simply having better players who are more comfortable on the ball.

Well, then I think we agree completely! Rooney last season wasn't good enough in that 10 role. He isn't technical enough and loses the ball far too often, which results in counter attacks the other way. I would rather prefer a more technical, quicker player in that role, so in that respect we agree.

I do, however, like our 4-4-2 playing style which is very direct; some of our counter attacks over the years have been absolutely sublime. I often find myself dozing off watching Barca play ball around the midfield area, and when they do explode into an attacking frenzy, I have forgotten which date it was and what I had for dinner. It's not all about keeping possession, and although I agree that some of United's play last season was below par, so was the play of City, Arsenal and Tottenham; it's just that we want and expect more from United.

Everyone tweet at the United players to encourage him to sign in the England game :p

Seriously, we have to be favorites if you were betting on it. He has a track record throughout his career of making comments that suggest he cares more about football than just money.

Furthermore, he will easily break £100k pw at United. Anyone suggesting the same is out of touch with 2012 football economics.

Cheslki don't have a manager, have a ragged squad that needs major investment. City have a shit ton of competition in his place.

We have everything to offer.

Hazard would get plenty of games in the No.10 position that he likes so much. Which would give us three options of Wazza,Welbeck and Chicha upfront. No need for a new striker then .

Thats exactly what I have been saying for the past month. We don't need a new striker if we get someone like Kagawa and more so if we do get Hazard.

How good would this be?

De Gea
Rafael Vidic Rio Evra
Carrick Scholes
Valencia Hazard Nani
Rooney

You could have Kagawa playing a deeper role or signing someone like a Strootman/Martinez.

Against the better teams this is still our weak area.

Actually the Carrick and Scholes partnership lost only one game this season, the City game where our outlets were Giggs and Park and Rooney on his own.

The other games we lost, Wigan, Atletico and Ajax all had Giggs and/or Park in the centre.

If you're saying it's weak due to lack of depth I'll agree with you but there is nothing wrong with that partnership, it just needs an outlet.
