Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

Dont the odds on stuff like this depend on how much people are betting on it? So if I went in and put a million euro on Stoke to sign Hazard, that would put Stoke favourites? Im pretty sure how that works.

That's what I mean, even though there's been no new info a bunch of money has been put on Chelsea such that they've passed City. Probably due to a few random tabloid articles about Chelsea being in the hunt.

I prefer someone who invest in the club rather then take money away from it. I agree with you regarding history though however the champions of europe are still an attractive and a big side who provide ample chances of winning important honors

But if Abramovic was to leave, Chelseas position is not sustainable. Manchester Uniteds position is sustainable, Glazers or not.

Since when did United offer 4yr contracts to players like Hazard? Surely we would seek to maximise any possible bargaining position by giving him 5 years? I smell BS IMHO.

It is my understanding that we only offer 4yr contracts in most cases these days. A Glazernomic policy.

If true, that's a stupid policy as we'll have to renegotiate a new deal every 2 years, unless we leave it to chance.

Sir Alex "we've heard the boy Hazard has decided to move to Chelsea. We have also pulled out of negotiations for Kagawa as there is no value. Bebe returning from loan will be like a new signing. No doot aboot it!'

Stop talking bollocks, there's nothing like that.

We gave Jones, De Gea and Young 5yr deals only last season.

Aye fair enough. I just had it in my mind that we were offering 4 year deals and not renegotiating until the last year. I think that Anderson, Rafael and Fabio only got 4 year deal on their renegotiations.

That last year renegotiation is also bollocks mate. Smalling and Hernandez's contracts were renewed even though there was no need of it. Same with Cleverley. We're renegotiating Nani's contract even though he has two years left on him.

Clearly false quotes. Fergie says "there's no doubt abou-that."

Rafaels contract is up next summer. I'm assuming Fabio's will be as well.

Fabio's is up the year after. Rafael signed a new one in 2009, Fabio in 2010.

A 4 year contract may be a concession to Hazard, accept lower wages now, renegotiate in 2 years depending on how well he does and if he's as good as he thinks he is he'll be on more than he'd be on at City or Chelsea, or he can leave.

Won't make too much sense to give a 30m player a 4yr contract for us. Though for Hazard, it's better.

Why would Hazard want a five year deal anyway? A player of his supposed talent would be looking to renegotiate as soon as possible in order to attain a massive pay rise.

I think the fact that Fergie obviously offered Hazard our Iconic number 7 shirt is our only hope of pipping Hazard on less wages then City and Chelsea offered. He will still probably end up at one of the other two but I guess we will find out in a day or two. I think he is the type of signing that would give the whole team a real lift going into next season and we need that. The fact that Belgium are also known as the Red Devils might make us more appealing too but unlikely to influence his decision of course.

Out of interest what is his brother Thorgan like? I remember hearing he was rated as more talented but obviously the press tends to overexaggerate on such things

Isn't it the rule you can't offer players of certain age more than 5 year contracts?

Exactly. So why the hell would Hazard prefer to go to Chelsea on terms which are not as advantageous AND where he hasn't been promised as much playing time? L'Equipe are usually reliable but this article of theirs raises more questions than it answers IMHO

this is just the calm before the storm, dont you worry!.

When Hazard hits english shores for the friendly, all hell is going to break loose.

Gambits been told to stop posting his "we're signing them" rally cry in all muppet threads so morale has taken a hit.

Im sure the captain will come back and lead the charge.

Don't worry, I'm just building up all the energy ready for the release.

I hope it happens, the Caf would go mental as we all celebrate the winning of the sign Eden Hazard cup.

Edit- he might play a bit too.

I can't see Hazard signing for us after Nev ruining the best external view from anywhere within the stadium. Massive slap in the face.
