Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

I'm gonna go against general concensus and I reckon he will sign for us.

I think this may have been quoted earlier in the thread, but it deserves a second airing:

"If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."
- GENERAL MELCHETT

I'm as sure as I've been from the start that he's not coming to us, so I'll take heart in that he at least isn't going to City - one of the few clubs that makes Chelsea look the lesser evil.

I do sometimes worry about the mental stability of the people who just blindly accept whatever is said on Twitter, so long as it has some sort of official sounding name. Not even the slightest bit of thought put into how genuine it is. Amazing. You can barely trust verified journalists on there, let alone random accounts.

I wouldn't even listen to what Saha is saying. How would he know?

Saha doesn't strike me as the most intelligent. It seems he's going off what we've all read.

Also if that Losc twitter is a load of bullshit it could be what a lot of other people are basing things on.

No credible source yet. I still expect him to sign for Chelsea though.

Saha also said he can't wait for Hazard to confirm his destination. He knows nothing.

It's on LOSCNewsEng. Lille have tweeted that he's travelling to Cobham to have a medical with Chelsea.

Retweeted by talksport

It's official, it's OVER

you mean a twitter page that was created a week ago and reports media stories? It could be true but its not an official Lille twitter account

I heard a rumour that Alex Ferguson is getting his best suit dry cleaned. Read into that what you will.

He did. To be honest, that's the most credible tweet of all.

I'm sure footballers have their own grapevine, which is far more likely to be accurate than all the random berks that set up twitter accounts to talk shit about transfers.

He may well have just seen that fake Lille account.

I must say, it looks like Chelsea to me. This is beyond rumours now - it's pretty much a consensus.

Gazumped. Again.

Only positive at the moment is (as someone else mentioned before) the tweet from Andrew Lindsay BBC‏@LindsayBBC

"Cannot fully verify source but being told Eden Hazard has chosen Manchester United and will "sign on or by Monday". #mufc #hazard "

only mentions Man Utd.

One thing is official, Redfighter is a spacker.

That same site carries a quote saying United will sign Hazard on or by today.

How can he possibly demand a guaranteed place and think that is possible???

Oh yes, Abramovich would probably give that assurance. There is no way in hell Fergie, Mancini or Di Matteo would ever give that kind of promise...

We don't know anything for fact. Everything that we are saying is assumption and rumour. The only thing we know for sure is that he has made his mind up.

I think people are being to quick to judge the situation. We just have to wait and see, if he does go Chelsea ok, but until that's confirmed, for all we know he could be going to either club.

So basically nothing has happened other than Hazard having made his mind up, and the Chelsea rumors are based on an old french article with no quotes saying Hazard's agent was in London.

Then why the panic?

Can we stop quoting that LOSCNewsEng twitter please, unless someone can make a compelling case for it's ITK-ness.

According to Red Issue David Gill boarded a train to London this morning.

Apologies for adding to the bollocks, and the fella who posted it has no particular proof other than being fairly reliable bloke and not a WUM in the past.

Chelsea are reportedly giving him double the money we're offering. He would have to be a United fan at heart to go for that.

If this happens it just proves once more that whatever Mr. Gill says we cannot compete in the transfer market with City and Chelsea. They are offering crazy wages, the good majority of players will got after that rather than the history of the football club. It has nothing to do with being a mercenary either, the career of a footballer is a short one, you don't know when it might end. The smart thing to do is getting as much money as you can.

Hasn't his agent said that personal terms have been agreed with all three clubs?

How can be such a disparity between two sets wages?

Goal.com reckons it's Chelsea...so it's definitely Hibernian.

I bet he just turned up and paid full price for the ticket too. No wonder we don't buy the big names.

My gut is saying United. I usually find my gut to be right.

But this isn't to say the way Hazard have gone about things have been very endearing.

I don´t understand why he would choose Chelsea. He don´t even know who their manager will be.

Chelsea are likely offering 200k a week because quite frankly, they know it's the only real way they can lure most players away from our club, right now at least.

Taking the train when many would've opted for first class on a 'plane. Good man.

This argument is redundant when you earn in a week what most earn in 5 years. In 3 months someone like Hazard will make more than most of us will make in a lifetime.

For what it's worth I genuinely don't care if we sign him. He sounds like he's milking every moment of this. It's a joke that even when the football season is over the game still manages to become a farce, and if we don't sign another pop-star-esque footballer I'm sure I will still sleep well at night.

Probably going to take photos of the announcement at Stamford Bridge...
