never rated him, hoped he would make it, doesnt look like he will, I could be wrong but im thinking he wont.
The thing with Anderson is even at his best he's still not good enough, the fact he is very rarely at his best makes his inclusion in the squad even more pointless. I really hope we sell him and I dont often say that about a United player
where is his best position and who is his main competition in the squad?
We've been through this before Pogue, Anderson had a brilliant second half of 2010/11, a brilliant pre-season, a brilliant opening to the season, and then a run of (at most) four or five poor games, then he got crocked. These are all the Manchester United matches that Anderson started in 2011:
West Brom A 2-1
Birmingham H 5-0
Southampton A 2-1
Man City H 2-1
Crawley H 1-0
Fulham H 2-0
Newcastle A 0-0
Everton H 1-0
Arsenal A 0-1
Schalke H 4-1
Blackpool H 4-2
City N 3-2
West Brom A 2-1
Spurs H 3-0
Arsenal H 8-2
Bolton A 5-0
Chelsea H 3-1
Stoke A 1-1
Basel H 3-3
Norwich H 2-0
Galati A 2-0
Man City H 1-6
Galati H 2-0
There were vastly more good performances than bad there, and people need to stop letting their frustration at his injuries colour their views on his quality as a footballer.
Don't think so mate, you need people who are defensively strong in the midfield, it's not enough to just have good possession players. Barca could get rid of busquets and play xavi and fabregas in the middle, freeing iniesta to go back to attacking midfield if it was just enough to have possessing players. And xavi is much better defensively that clev or ando and either of them are probably as useful as fabregas there. But they haven't and they most likely won't.
We've done it time and time again missing Fletcher, Carrick. Sometimes even having Carrick and Fletcher in there having a total mare.
Carve a few steaks of that arse and barbecue 'em.I'd suggest making Anderson join one of those extremely rigorous summer training programs
I have to admit it's hard to believe he's going to come out and play something like 3 straight injury-free seasons to make up for all the time out injured.
I'd suggest making Anderson join one of those extremely rigorous summer training programs, go through what a Navy SEAL does in boot camp, something to get him in better shape. Then put him in Giggsy's yoga class so his tendons can survive a season.
I love the way we play with him and Cleverley in the team, but even the most red-tinted United supporter has to have question mark over Anderson. It's been 'one more season' for many of us for quite a few years.
At least he does seem to be improving, his beginning of this past season was his best form yet.

Where do you get this blind faith from? You actually know yourself it's just wishful thinking.
Exactly - I'm one of those most red-tinted United supporters and Anderson supporters, but based on previous seasons while he's still 24(?) it makes sense to sell him now to fund players who can add to the team throughout the whole season. Anderson when fit and on form is glorious but 15 games per season doesn't cut it.
If sense could be measured in biscuits, this transfer would
He is not going anywhere and it doesn't make sense to sell him either. He has performed when he has been in the team. Why would we be in a hurry to displace him?
He isn't like Hargreaves, atleast not yet. Performance-wise, he just hasn't got a regular run to judge his performance.Because he's an injury prone player who, to be quite frank, is average with the sort of standards we need. If he's going to get injured continually and doesn't really improve at all, why hang onto him?
It's the other way up. People amplify a few good performances, usually against weak opposition and ignore the general dross.

The fact you’re such a bubbly character and happy person must help when you’re going through difficult times with injuries…
Yes I think it helps. I just try to stay positive. These things happen in football. I’m still young and I can’t let myself get down because I’ve had two bad injuries. It’s important to stay happy because I’m at the best club in the world.
Brilliant interview, can't wait for the season to start now.
Looks like he'll be staying alright. In that case we should be rooting for him all the way to keep clear of injuries and put some form together. I have been critical of him in the past, mostly out of frustration of his injuries, but I'd love to see him play just one full season uninjured and make my mind up about him afterwards.
There's no chances involved, he's a United player, end of.

The 2011/12 campaign could not have started any better for Anderson with some eye-catching performances in the United engine room during the first three months of the season.
But a knee injury - picked up at the start of November - and subsequent hamstring problem - in early March - effectively put paid to the Brazilian's campaign.
Now fit again, Anderson says he can't wait to get back into action and, as he told ManUtd.com, is determined make his mark on a season he describes as the most important of his Reds' career...
How are you feeling ahead of the new season?
I feel good. I had a nice holiday and I’ve had no problem with my leg. This season it’s very important that I don’t have any more injuries.
Can you believe how much bad luck you’ve had with injuries?
[Smiles] I started last season with no problems but then I started to feel my knee a bit. It’s just one of those things – some players have injuries and others don’t. It’s unfortunate it happened to me but I just got my head down and worked as hard as I could to get back. And when I came back I thought everything was fine, but then I had more bad luck. I’m just focused on staying fit now and doing my best to work hard and give 100 per cent for the team.

Do you feel you’ll be ready for the new season?
I think so. I’ve been training for a few days now and I feel good.
What targets have you set yourself?
I just want to play. For me, this season is very important. I know I have to be very focused on my football. I’ll still have a laugh and a joke with my team-mates, but I know I must be really focused on my job. I really want to show what I can do this season, produce my best and help the team.
Is it fair to say this is your most important campaign at United?
Yes definitely. I need to prove what I can do. I know the boss and my team-mates believe in me, I’ve just had bad luck. I want to improve as much as I can and help the team win trophies.
You must take encouragement for the great way in which you started last season – you and Tom Cleverley had a great partnership going in the first month?
I really enjoyed myself at the start of last season. Me and Tom did well, but I enjoy playing with all the midfielders – Carrick, Tom, Scholes. I don’t mind. I just want to play and feel good. And I want to stay fit. Hopefully I can get a run of playing, enjoy my football and help the team.
After the way we lost the league last season, do you sense an extra determination within the squad to put things right this term?
Yes of course. We had so many injuries last season, and bad injuries as well, to lots of players. Some were out for a couple of months at a time and some longer. That definitely had an effect on our title challenge.
Will City once again be our biggest challengers?
Yes they will be there and so will Chelsea. We just had a lot of bad luck with injuries last season.
If we keep everyone fit, I feel confident we will win the title.
We’ve proven in the past how good we are at bouncing back from adversity…
Definitely. And we mustn’t forget we did very well last season in the league. The Champions League was very disappointing and we want to do better this time but with the league the difference between us and City was eight goals. Hopefully things will go our way this season.

I started last season with no problems but then I started to feel my knee a bit.
I wonder if the medical staff were aware he could "feel his knee" before he ended up rupturing it. Is that sort of thing even preventable?
