Apparently Dortmund coach made some snide remarks about Kagawa's transfer to United. Can't find an article of that in English? Anyone heard of this?

Coach Jurgen Klopp understands Kagawa’s desire to perform in the EPL. ” Back in Japan, the Bundesliga is nothing, while the English league is everything,” said the Dortmund coach. Kagawa, who scored 17 goals during his sterling season for Dortmund, will probably be replaced on the pitch by incoming star Marco Reus. And although BvB fans worldwide are sad to see the 23 year-old Kagawa leave, his transfer will come with a hefty profit for the schwarzgelben.

I think the sentiment back in Germany is that the fans warmed to the player and vice versa but meanwhile let his contract run down without a renewal like Mesut & Sahin - giving the impression that he never intended to stay longterm

Seems like a normal fan reaction, more disappointment than resentment I'd wager

Kagawa will miss the start of pre-season training today as his work permit is in Phillipines, which should arrive in the next 24hrs. [Goal]

What's his work permit doing in Phillipines?

May be our Home Office equivalent to Call centres has moved to Philippines?

Subotic: Kagawa can be Old Trafford star

Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic believes former team-mate Shinji Kagawa can become a key player for Manchester United.

Kagawa, 23, signed for United last month after two years at Dortmund, during which time he helped the club win two successive Bundesliga titles and the 2012 German Cup.

And Subotic is convinced that the Japan playmaker will enjoy similar influence, and success, under Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He can be a really special player for Manchester United," Subotic told ESPN. "He came to our league having mainly played in the second division in Japan, but still had an immediate impact.

"He played such a big role in our success and he's still so young - he can definitely have a similar influence at United if he is given the chance.

"Of course, it will be harder than here. But if he's given time then there's no doubt the team will see the quality he has."

The arrival of Marco Reus at Dortmund has softened the blow of Kagawa's departure a little, but Subotic insists that even if Reus had not been brought in he would have been behind his former team-mate's decision to leave the club.

"Even if Marco Reus hadn't come in to replace him, I wouldn't have been disappointed for Shinji to move on at all," Subotic said.

"I am happy for him because he has taken the next step in his career and it's definitely one forward, not backward. I wish him well and I hope he gets quickly accustomed to the league so we can watch him play on TV."

The work permit thing seems to be a bit complicated. Remember when Valencia had to go all the way back to Ecuador when he joined? Missed first few games of the tour.

^ He's not got his work permit yet. He'll be in training when he gets it which according to StanleyCupboard/Goal should be in the next 24 hours.

ta. Glad to have him, just with them winning the league again I wouldnt have thought they needed to sell, but if he was refusing to extend his contract (RVP style) they makes more sense. Their loss our (huge) gain. appy days :D

They did well though to get Reus to replace him. They didnt want to sell ofcourse, he was one of their if not the best performers last year from what i gather but with him wanting to leave+contract situation, they would have had to let him go for nothing next summer.

Quality acquisition though at a great price..

The English version of the website has it correct. Only the Japanese version doesn't.

Can it really be racist if even the Japanese think they all look alike? :smirk:

You'd have an itchy nose too if your job was to have a bunch of blokes jizz on your face.

We really need some football, some of the discussion in this thread is getting creepy!

i wonder if shinji will let giggs smash her on film.

To be honest, the gingers could make a new revenue stream by having the team do a gangbang with ichinose and sticking it on video

People were complaining about last year's season review DVD.

Not anymore they won't ;-)
