Manchester United vs. Galatasaray

All we seem to do is pass it towards Valencia so he can cross, but this isn't working and we have no alternative plan

Nani looking lively yet hasn't really done much. Valencia has had about 10 crossing opportunity's and wasted every one. Van Persie has barely been in the game. Kagawa probably the best of the front 4 so far.

not the best of half's, if the ref had been on the ball it could of been 2-2.
RVP has been missing most of the half, Carrick is playing well.
Evra need a kick up the arse and hopefully he will be getter in the second half

Since we scored, we have struggled to get into the game. They have been much more impressive and our best players have all been sloppy as shit.

Better but not dominant or as worrying as Basel last year, we just need to keep the ball better.

No, but I think that more has happened than the 3 minute penalty incident.

Quinn offers no insight, at all. Whoever thought the man should become a commentator was blatantly pissed.

And the worst thing is people seem to actually listen to what he says...they think that Carrick tackle was a penalty, when it so clearly wasn't, and they seem to think we really have been dominated for 30 minutes. We've had 57% possession, lads, and Valencia's been in acres of space three or four times with plenty of bodies in the box, and he's beaten players for fun at times, the end product's just been off. There's more goals in it for us and it'll be a comfortable win.

And it's been a good game. Enjoy it.

Hopefully we'll rest Scholes for Sunday now, could do with Anderson's physicality and drive right now, the game is there to be won in the middle we're just not quiet controlling it yet.

Nani can do better, A LOT better.

Valencia has forgotten how to cross

Awful, once again for the 600 millionth time United start relaxing after a early goal. Valencia left his crossing boots at home. Scholes looks knackered like he usually does when teams actually put him under pressure and not let him dictate. Hairdryer time I guess.

Oh we haven't been dominated at all. It has been an even game until the period of last five minutes.

I don't think we've been nearly as bad as some of you lot are suggesting... if we'd done less dicking about in and around their box/ put in a final ball, we could easily be 3 or 4 ahead here.

Clear foul but not a pen.

We are to sloppy and complacent atm.

The Gala player got off his shot before the foul, it seems that in these cases that refs don't want to create a 'double jeopardy' situation and give a free kick if there's no goal. Of course if the shot seems to have been altered, i.e. ruined by the foul then you get a free kick.

At least that's how it seemed to me.

Agreed it's been sloppy, and if we'd had more cutting edge in the final 3rd we'd have another goal.

We've been a bit sloppy and they are very quick on the break - this hasn't made for the most flowing half of footie. They definitely have a goal in them so we'll need to get our act well and truly together in the second.

Very odd first half, the build up at times has been great but the final ball has let us down big time. The main problem is sloppyness particularly in scholes and valencia, the latter who is doing some great touches last people but his passing /crossing has been poor.

The break will help though, we just need to calm down and try a more measured approach. Lots of potential here. Think though this is an example of making scholes plying 2 in a row, sometimes he can but others he seems tired and that causes him to become sloppy it seems as ee've seen this from him before.

Just like last year, dominated at home.

WE have had 57.3% of the play at 44 minutes.

WE have won 51.7% of the duels on the ground

WE have won 64.3% of the aerial duels

It is not our finest hour, and other stats are not as good, but we are not being dominated

I know it's very in vogue now to praise Tony V, but I think he's been incredibly annoying so far. He's held onto the ball for far too long in loads of situations (as has Nani) and his crossing's been woeful, whilst we insist AGAIN!! on spending all our time playing it out to him rather than through the middle, despite the fact we actually scored by going through the middle.

It's been pretty piss poor for the last 25 minutes tbh.

Well, it started out really promising... but everything's gone downhill since the goal. Kagawa is always one step ahead of the rest of the team, it's almost hilarious how much quicker he is on the uptake than everyone else.

Scholes is poor and that is a problem because that means the entire team ceases to function.

Early goal and then sloppy and complacent play from us.

Has been the story most of the times last season.

At home, after a woeful last season and a full strength team today, we should be doing a bit better.

It's not quite happening is it? We looked good value at parts during the 1st half but for whatever reason it's all gone a bit flat. I can't really put my finger on it but something isn't quite right. There have been some very nice touches from some players but it's been stop start. Carrick and Kagawa have been definite pluses. Carrick's so much better when he takes the safety off and drives forward it's a pity he's usually so cautious.

Valencia's crossing has been a bit skeewhiff, Scholes has been pretty sloppy despite some great moments going forward and Rafael and Evra have gone walkabout to much again. Though I'm sure we'll see a much better second half. I reckon Gala should have capitalised while they could.

The thing is the Basle game they just grew and grew into it, and we never got back into it at all. Once they scored the floodgates opened. Tonight doesn't quite have that feeling yet, but we really need to up the ante in the 2nd half and stop being so damn sloppy. Scholes has almost cost us 5 times with his sloppyness alone.

The left side has to get their s*it together, because all the penetration comes from our right, and when the opposition knows whats coming, it's piss easy to defend against it.

Bit of a meh half after the goal. Have barely put half a dozen passes together. We've given RVP nothing to work with, Nani cant get into the game at all and Valencia's been very poor. Very static in the middle of the park but Carrick has used the ball pretty well

It's a not sloppy which has been the story of the season thus far. The intentions are good but the executions are sub-par.
