Patchy in the first, good in the second, his feckwittery with the peno aside.

He's probably the most frustrating player I've seen for us. Yes his link-up play can be fantastic, when it's all happening at 100mph. But so often he gets the ball in space, controls it brilliantly or skips past his man, and then does completely the wrong thing. It's infuriating. But yes he's amazing.

He done the right thing all of the 2nd half, minus the penalty.

Penalty aside (which is just one of them things) I thought he was good tonight.

MotM for me. Shit penalty but his link up play was brilliant. Should have had 3 or 4 assists today if our other players didnt have such stinkers.

Could of had maybe 5-6 assists tonight, easily. For all the times he makes you frustrated, he sets up chance after chance, and on another night we would have put those chances away. His passing and link-up play is phenomenal. How many one on ones did he provide tonight? Bad penalty though, I'd have felt more confident with RVP taking it.

5 Key passes from Nani tonight, Interestingly RVP made 4. Really strange game from Nani, he started horribly, after about 20mins his pass completion was 60%. He ended up playing superbly though; had the second highest amount of touches of any United player and rarely gave the ball away after the first 20mins. The penalty was absolutely horrible though and I am sure that we will not see him take one for us for a while.

Carrick was the MOM, without question.

edit: I meant to reply to that Godfather chap, sorry.

His passing is generally poor. Loses possession more than any other player (that's fact by the way)

Glad someone else picked up on this. His first half was rubbish. Continually lost possession, then there was that shot. Shite penalty, but also created chances.
You're a bit retarded aren't you.

How is he then? For pointing out that Nani did give the ball away a lot in the first half. Or cos he isn't wanking over the chances he created?

This completely ignores the fact many of his passes are crosses and through balls which are more likely to be intercepted than the passes played by Carrick for example. 5 key passes from Nani today, better pass success rate than Valencia too and RVP.

I hate those stutter step penalties but people shouldn't rush to slate him. Van Persie and Hernandez have also produced poor ones when they had their chance. Rooney will make things interesting when he get's back.

Anyway Nani's general play was really good tonight. It's always worth having him in the team when he looks likely to create something. I still wouldn't even want to think about losing such a threatening player.

We all know that Nani is a quality player, but let's be honest, he's been fecking poor so far this season.

Was about to post the same, but as you've already done it I'm just quoting you!

This is what stats does to football. Nani didn't get any assists and missed a penalty, so he must be shit. Let's completely ignore the fact that he played a part in pretty much every chance we created and it's not his fault that our strikers couldn't finish today.

If you think Nani was shit tonight; get fecked. You don't understand football.

Quality second half. Dribbling and vision both brilliant. Poor penalty and first half, but he's incredibly creative.

He lets himself down with the simple things. Almost like he's not concentrating because it's so easy. They he fecks it up.

There was a moment in the first half when he'd drifted right and should have played RVP in with an extremely simple ball but fecked up and played it behind him.

He was good after the penalty miss, like it woke him up or something. A few quality passes, including two to Hernández and one to Van Persie who managed to convert it to a free-kick... to Galata.

That one shot, mentioned before the 5 chances he put on a plate in the second half. Sums this place up.

Who else was creating chances in that second half? Yes, when you try something special, chances are things might go wrong more often than insipid boring play from some of his teammates. But he created two chances of which at least one should have been put away.

The rest could not create much danger.

I get frustration, but when you are putting that many chances on a plate for your teammates, does it really matter? It's like crossing for wingers, but instead passing for Nani. You have to accept that a lot of those attempts aren't going to come off, but when one does, that's what counts. Unfortunately tonight none of those counted, but that really is outside of his control, the point is he consistently created more goal scoring oppertunities than anyone.

Although, yeah, it's not always like tonight which makes the frustration a bit more relevant.

He was really good tonight. Along with carrick our best player on the pitch tonight.

Poor against Everton, done well v Southampton and was not bad against Wigan.

Far from his best, but he hasn't been as bad as you are making out. One of our best players tonight and created the most chances in the game.

He wasn't rubbish in the first half at all. Honestly he gets ridiculous levels or criticism at times.

At least they have brains though... or something

Well, as my post was agreeing with him, it made sense to list that stuff first. But no, you're right, I'll go rearrange the order of my post and it'll completely change the meaning of it.

No, that's not what I mean though is it? People are going to remember one moment like that over the 2nd half where he was very good. It's just the typical Nani discussion on here. Same at the weekend, he hit a wild shot in the first half and because of that he played shit apparently.

I regret I read these posts above.

You overrate him heavily.

Good contribution that Maciek, almost as good as the deleted post.

Valencia wasted over 10 crosses and created nothing. No criticism.

I remember at the start of last season he was getting shedloads of criticism, it goes in cycles really. Nani had a bit of time off but now he's in for it.

Penalty apart I think he was wonderful tonight. Should definitely start on Sunday and in place of Valencia if we decide to play just one winger.

Messi loses possession more than any other player in La Liga, that's fact. It means nothing, especially not for an attacker who dribbles and tries difficult stuff all the time.

It's not, but we get the point you're trying to make.

He's the only one who brought fire into our game. When we came from the right it was the same all the fecking time. Carrick, Scholes play it neatly but very safe, sometimes backwards, sometimes sidewards, then the ball eventually comes to Val who runs down the sideline and puts in a pretty shit cross.

Nani set up about 4 chances alone today, with quick link up play and good movement. Yeah it's sometimes frustrating when it doesnt come off but feck me without him I'd have fallen asleep today.
