Liverpool vs. Manchester United

I called a last minute Ronaldo winner vs. City and a shabby 1-0 victory for United already this week, so I'll call it as 2-1 United against these lot.

Somehow it would just be so typical if they got their first win against United. Then after the game talked a load of nonsense about this game proving that Liverpool are "back", then lost their next league game against Norwich.

Anyway, I'd like to see this XI:

-------------- De Gea

Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra

------- Carrick - Cleverley

Valencia --- Kagawa --- Nani

------------ RVP

Anyone hear "We'll sing what we want?" tonight? Pretty fecking shocking if it was used in he context I think it is.

DDG looked a bit more muscley tonight...unless he's stuffed some donuts up his sleeves.

I think so, de Gea is a genuine match winner of a 'keeper.

He can be a match loser too mind... But he does seem to play great in the big games.

Can't have done his chances much harm tonight that's for sure.

I really hope that wasn't the case. Fair enough that they were at the stadium tonight and I was stuck at my student home, but to go against what Fergie said during these circumstances is just plain stupid.

If any United fan misbehaves on Sunday, I wouldn't shed a tear if they were banned.

Just hope we show urgency and tenacity in midfield. Too often we get overrun.

Sir Alex said in a interview with RTE that De gea is more suited to European football at this stage. Make of it what you will.

We did better against them when they were consistently in the top 4 :(
Expecting to see...
De gea
Rafael rio vidic evra
Carrick cleverley
Valencia kagawa nani
Van persie

Hoping for any win, but it'll probably be a draw.

I agree with the pessimists here - I'm not expecting anything from this one.

I'd want:

Lindegaard
Rafael---Vidic---Rio---Evra
Cleverley---Carrick---Anderson
Valencia---RVP---Kagawa

Bench: De Gea, Evans, Buttner, Nani, Scholes, Giggs, Chicharito/Welbeck/Rooney

No idea really about how best to set-up the forward-line but I want an extra central-midfielder in there, and to keep the Kagawa-RVP partnership on the pitch together at least. Hopefully Valencia starts delivering as I don't think he's found his form yet - he gets the start over Nani due to size, energy and pace, pretty much what we've missed at Anfield for years now.

We take it all back
We take it all back
Sorry we offended you
And that Evra is black

United 6 Liverpool 3

-------------------------De Gea---------------------

----------------Cleverly----Carrick-------------------

---Wellbeck-------W. Rooney-----------------Nani---

-----------------------------Van Persie--------------

Subs: Lindegaard, J.Evans, Buttner, Scholes, Ando, Kagawa, Hernandez
Prediction: 1-1 Nani

We will twat these cnuts this time around.

A draw will do me fine.

....................DDG......................
Rafael.........Rio....Vidic...........Evra
Valencia...Carrick...Cleverley...Giggs
................Kagawa......................
.................Van Persie.................

We need some composure in midfield. Pass the ball around please. Carrick-Cleverley-Kagawa. They should play it safe. Possession is key. Experience is needed too. Giggs might be fresh for this one. I expect him to play 60 mins tops.

I'm more than aware of our games vs Liverpool, but honestly I can't see us dropping any points this time around. We are slowly geling and getting stronger, as is evident by our winning run and now 2 clean sheets in a row, while they've picked up 2 points out of 4 matches (OK they weren't exactly easy matches, but still).
Not trying to sound overconfident as we definitely need to iron out some mistakes, but with all honesty I expect us to pick up 3 points in a convincing win.

The result will be one thing but I hope to see a better performance than in previous trips. We should look at what Arsenal did recently against them on the counter

We will twat these cnuts this time around.

I seriously doubt that. It would be brilliant if we did, but I don't see it. You saw how they raised their game against City, surely they will try even harder against us.

Code:
                  de Gea

Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Valencia Carrick Cleverley Nani

              Kagawa
                    van Persie

SUBS:
Lindegaard, Evans, Giggs, Anderson, Scholes, Hernandez, Welbeck

Pretty sure Giggs will start this. I'd like to start Welbeck (he was outstanding last time out at Anfield playing up front on his own) as well but I have no idea how to fit him in. Would mean dropping Kagawa, which in turn would mean Carrick - Cleverley will not work.

Needs a serious step up in recent performances to win this. Bar Wigan we Have been dodgy as feck. Has to be on the button Sunday.

Valencia Carrick Cleverley Nani

                    van Persie

SUBS:
Lindegaard, Evans, Giggs, Anderson, Scholes, Hernandez, Welbeck

Yup. I think this too.

However the line up will actually include Giggs, Anderson and probably someone out of position.

feck the game raiser, let's fecking twat them!

It's time we raise our game against them!

It's not been about them game raising against us really. It's been our inability to go to anfield and play anything resembling decent football in the last few years.

We weren't great tbf. I don't think we've clicked into gear bar the odd Hal here and there. Results have been positive but look who we have played? Time to step up to the mark.

Results have been fine (we could lose at Goodison at any time in a season, and it wasn't exactly a hammering) but I'm wondering when was our last really good performance in a game? It hasn't clicked this season, pre-season was a wash-out, we choked at the end of last season (Fulham and QPR at home weren't great despite the results) - it seems a little while now since we've dominated a game.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh when it's results that count, but I'd dearly love a big performance from the team at Anfield - it's well overdue.

I dont think Hernandez will start but I would like to see him start with RVP. He would cause them problems IMO. He is great in away matches as teams are afraid to push up.

Next three games:

9/23 Liverpool (A) Prem
9/26 Newcastle (H) League Cup
9/29 Tottenham (H) Prem

So, seems pretty clear Scholes won't start. What about Giggs and Carrick?

With the CC game in midweek we can play Cleverley and Anderson then, Newcastle may put out a first team and I can see us resisting playing a reserve team. But we may need to take a right back and right winger from the reserves to rest Rafael and Valencia, Young should be back though.

Our next game in the league is Tottenham at home, certainly not an easy game but at least Carrick and Scholes would have 6 days rest. Rooney can come off the bench.

Liverpool (A)
De Gea
Rafael Rio Vida Evra
Carrick Giggs
Valencia Kagawa Nani
Van Persie

Newcastle (H) LC
Lindegaard
M. Keane Evans Wootton Buttner
Cleverley Anderson
L. Cole Welbeck Young
Chicharito

Tottenham (H)
De Gea
Rafael Rio Vida Evra
Scholes Carrick
Valencia Kagawa Nani
Van Persie

I fancy the same team that beat Galatasaray, get some consistency going. Then same team vs Tottenham as well after resting almost all of them for the Newcastle game.

Unless Rooney is back, but I fancy him to get sub appearances first, unless he's fully fit for Newcastle then he might as well start that match.
