Anderson

We only had Ando - Cleverley in midfield at the start of last season, no Carrick, and primarily Welbeck up front with Rooney, with Young and Nani on the wings.

I thought it was odd he didn't start against Stoke and then didn't play at all against Braga, given he wasn't on international duty he should have been fit and he's not done anything to warrant limited game time, with clev playing both games for England I would have thought Ando might have got the nod over him. Can't see him starting the Chelsea game on the weekend now but he'll play against them next week in the league cup.

I was VERY surprised SAF played 3 forwards and included Rooney & RVP in the team vs Braga. That decision cost Anderson a chance to play yesterday.

However, I dont think that SAF cares too much about rotation this early in a season. Pick the right team to win a game. Players should still be fresh enough to meet the demands of regular games when we are still in October.

And as we see in our defence right now, crisis in any department is just 2 tackles or training sessions away, so the need for 22 quality players is paramount for a team aspiring to fight on all fronts.

Im not reading anything into Anderson's relative lack of chances this year. Like Sheringham in 1998/99, it is what it is. Indeed its wonderful to have such great competition for places.

At some point, he will be called upon to make a significant 1st team contribution. He needs to be ready for that call, and then make himself undroppable after that.

Yeah true I don't think it's a big deal or anything but I don't think he's done anything to warrant such limited game time atm but I think with all the strikers/wingers we have Fergie is finding it tough to include everyone and so some people will have to miss out, which wasn't unexpected after we signed kagawa and RVP. I'm sure he will get plenty of game time later on in the season, as you said if he stays fit he can be important later on in the season, we're gonna really need to use our squad if City go out of the CL early.

Only thing I would say is that although I love Scholes I hope Fergie tries to include Ando and Clev as much as he can. This is where we can properly bed them in and see if they can do it and if they struggle we have Scholes as a safety net. I don't want to overplay scholes now and then he runs out of steam by Jan and we're forced to rely on Clev and Ando. Fergie has always said he know's how to manage scholes over a season but I don't think we've seen that yet.

Looking fantastic so far tonight.

I genuinely don't get why Ando has found himself so far down the pecking order lately. Everyone here knows I'm a massive supporter of Cleverson and Ando's demonstrating tonight why.

That piece of skill when he took off Romeu and then laid a volleyed, cushioned pass into the path of Giggs. That was Berba-esque.

Enjoying himself in the first half, good to see.

We've all mentioned that it can't be his form, must just be that the club want him to build up his fitness slowly. Last thing we need is to start throwing into 90 minute games every week and watch him blow out again before xmas.

Yeah I think because of his past issues with injury and fitness Fergie is taking it very easy on him.

This could all be down to advice from the physio.

Start him Saturday. Has been brilliant today.

His return to regular football is getting serious, with each month, no doubt.

If he'll be constantly working on his fitness and form like that, he may even become a key midfield player, in the 2nd half of the season.

Magnificent assists, today but also overall solid performance.

The team has been about a third as good since Anderson has tired.

But can he play like that in a two-man midfield?

Could've played by himself tonight. :D

We need to do away with the 2 man midfield and realise that having Cleverley and Anderson both in the same team is the way forward, in my opinion. Seeing as though neither Nani or Valencia are in the sort of form whereby we absolutely have to play them, we should be trying 3 in midfield.

Excellent from Anderson tonight. I think Fergie's building up his fitness with his game time at the moment. Fact he could not finish the 90 tonight tells it's own story.

We lost the game when he had to come off.

Let's hope we do a great job of building up his fitness this time, no more injuries and he'll be an absolute animal for us, solving all of our midfield issues.

Superb player!

He was easily the best player on the pitch I thought. The more we play him, the more he'll become used to playing at that tempo for 90 minutes. I'm feeling a bit cautious about getting too excited about that given his injury record, but Fergie's surely got to play him more after that. Even when he was knackered and up against Ramires, Hazard, Oscar and Mata he was showing how good he was.

No question. He ran the show for us. His energy drove us on and his passing was our cutting edge up front. He's looking very good these days. It's a shame he hasn't played more, because he deserves it.

Immense tonight. Three assists, ran the midfield and covered a hell of a lot of ground. Still can't complete 90 minutes but fair enough with the lack of games he's had and the amount of work he does. Very promising.

I hope the lack of game time is just to make sure we keep him fit for the season so we can utilise him in the second half for once, we'll need him.

Looked every inch a United player...confident and assured in everything he did. He is on the rise....can be a big player this season if he stays fit.

I think tonight showed he has been itching to get on the field. Could be involved on Saturday.

Our best player tonight. He really deserves a start ahead of Cleverley in the league soon. Not because Cleverley is shit or anything like that, but because Ando has played very well every time hes given chances lately.

I doubt it will happen against Arsenal but he was subbed off and that indicates SAF might have a role for him in mind already this weekend.

He should really do something about his fitness, cause if he improves it he can really become a great player.

Anderson going off and Fletcher having to play right back was our undoing. Still, put in a great performance.

Great to hear anderson doing well in the game and getting a bunch of assists. We just need to work on his match fitness and he can have a big impact for the rest of the season. Even then if we get 60min of quality from him each game I'll take that as well. Just bring on a replacement like scholes to finish out the game
