Manchester United vs. Newcastle United

Maybe we'll see Danny throwing up at some point today, and someone will point out this is most likely a sign of us getting rid, with Fergie demanding he acts the part and looks ill in the meantime.

So Rooney, Young and Welbeck got injured/sick at the same time. Our injury luck is amazing.

Adding the injuries of Anderson, Nani, Kagawa and Rafael, yeah indeed our injury luck is shit amazing.

feck, I am not going to blame the ref, Scholes, Giggs or Valencia. Mike Phelan and our doctors are at fault.

Don't worry, folks, I've binned that Gareth Barry Pantomime Horse pic.

No, we don't but what are the odds that Rooney, Young, Welbeck, Jones etc all have knocks? We should never have to field Giggs and Scholes in the same line up. Time and time again it's been proven not good enough for a premier league match, hell we even struggle with one of them in the starting line up these days. Valencia continues to start and stink out the place

The odds on four players being injured? Not that long I would guess?

Apparently Rooney and Young picked up knocks and Welbeck is sick.

It's not a very good line-up but if reports about injuries are true, and looking at our bench they must be, then there wasn't much choice.

I understand people's concerns over Scholes and Giggs starting together though because we've struggled in most games that they started together. Good that Newcastle are without their best midfielders too as this should make things easier.

I would've thought someone like Henrique would've made the bench? No striker/winger on the bench is nonsensical, I mean what's the point of having both Wooton and Vidic on the bench when we've already got 3CBs on the field.

I was laughing at the fact he's put out such a weird line-up with subs to back, and am expecting a lot of entertainment one way or another from the match, it also seems like Fergie is directly trying to wum this forum.

Fair enough. I agree though it's going to be crazy one way or another. They'll either be dreadful or it'll work for some weird reason like the Chelsea game in January 2009 where we started with Ronaldo - Fletcher - Giggs - Park and had Berbatov instead of Tevez who played a blinder.

I'm expecting the latter, I'm just hoping to god that delicious strike partnership can do the business for us and that defence can keep them at bay because we're not going to win the middle unless Carrick is on serious form which I doubt next to Scholes.

For anyone worried about the starting lineup, just remember it's a million times stronger than what we put out this time last year v Blackburn!

That had Jones and Rafael in midfield, and no Rooney up front, when we were pretty much a Rooney one man team.

Granted it is ridiculous luck that we lose Rooney, Young and Welbeck all together!

That bench has to have the least attacking potential of any team Fergie has ever fielded!

What a ridiculous injury list of attackers tho...

Rooney, Welbeck, Young, Nani, Anderson, Kagawa

Our team is more than good enough to beat Newcastle, and a few players get a break before Saturday's game. With Chicarito and RVP up front I expect a few goals 3-1 I predict.Come on you reds.

Henriquez, I think is already training with Wigan for his loan move.

I hope Rooney isn't dropped purely because of a bad game... The likes of Welbeck and Young must be injured if they've been left out completely (obviously same for Nani, Anderson, and Kagawa).

The problem I have is that we could have easily played Fletcher or Cleverley over one of the strikers, just so we have something different to come off the bench up front. The feeling I get from this line-up is that when it doesn't work, we don't have a Plan B other than swapping Scholes for Cleverley which isn't much of a change. We have next to no width or goal threat on the bench.

Hopefully Buttner can provide something on the left if Giggs has an ineffective game.

Newcastle's midfield is very underwhelming too.

Oh No, the old man is at it again.
Is he going senile already?
Hope those senior citizen Giggs and Scholes can take up the challenge and prove us all wrong.
United is going to struggle aginst the Newcastle runners.
If I were Pardew, sent in all the runners in mid-field.

have some respect you bloody idiot.

Who would you field differently with Rooney, Kagawa, Young, Nani and Anderson injured, and Welbeck sick?

What would YOU do differently?
