maybe not fit enough to last a full 90 mins yet?
Maybe. How long did he play the other day? Can't remember whether he was subbed or not.

If he has a shocker, which he sometimes does coming back, then we cant afford it. Fergies seen him in training all week and must think at the moment welbeck is the better option
He's played at LB and CM, I'm sure it's not farfetched to think he might one day step out on the right wing. Preferably not today though.
punishment for missing the penalty!?
Perhaps Fergie is worried Rooney isn't quite right physically yet to play in these conditions.

He played his first game after a two-month injury on Wednesday... ffs.
There is a lot of disappointment about the team selection. I have to say I'm surprised myself, but make no mistake about it, Fergie will have studied our defeat at OT and no doubt feels this is the way forward.
Jones is the new Fletcher.
I predict that fans will be surprised, astounded, indignant and repulsed by the choice of Jones in the center for the next two years, when he will confound us all by turning into a world class midfielder. And Fergie will be proved right all along.![]()
Just leaves the small problem of Bale...but feck it, we have RVP up front.
Parker's first start this season.
Wasn't he PL's best player last season?
I'm not sure about world class, but I think he's got the potential to be in the Hargreaves/Gattuso class.
Bizarre line up.
An opportunity to test the sheer might of this team with everyone fit and Fergie does the usual again. Jones in the midfield when Anderson and Cleverley would have passed the Tottenham's pitbulls to death in that area of the pitch. No Rooney, Nani and Valencia in the line-up is weird. I hope Fergie is aware it was Barcelona that lost last night, not Man City.

Very strong bench, optimistic about the game.
Rafael is well able to deal with him.
he wasnt even spurs best player last season

So he needs a rest is it?????
he is fit and he played ok on wednesday, he should be at least on the bench!
FFS
We definitely need someone in the middle of the park to stop Dembele and Dempsey from ruining right through our team, and Jones seems to be the answer to that. Carrick will sit deep as well to stop us being run over in the middle.
Jones also likes a good run forward sometimes and I think we need some of that today, attack the space fo shizzle.

Glad you know your stuff better than Fergie...............
Hargreaves and Gattuso can be considered world class at their best for the job they were supposed to do if not ability and stuff.
