Van Piorsing
Lost his light sabre
I'm just happy, he's not injured and is able to continue his development.
Need to control the tempo more, not every ball needs to be a through ball.
The whole team except Rooney, Kagawa and Vidic were terrible.
I still have faith. The positive is that he didn't get injured. Have faith everyone.
WHAT? Evra was arguably our best man and he was terrible? OK then... The rest of the team were quite shite though. Rafael was good when he came on. RVP was mediocre at best.
Polemic
Oops forgot Evra.
But my point is that Anderson was off just like the majority of the team.
Let's wait and see what he does in the next few games.
He would not get game time in our CL competitors reserve teams.
Get rid.
Just out of interest how high have you played Giggsforever?
Southampton played on the same pitch as us, and they were knocking the ball around easily.I don't know if you are serious, but if you are you have never played football at a high level. I have, and Carrick and Anderson did well on that pitch. The main problem was the distribution from the back and the midfield not able to pass at one touch under pressure because of the sorry state of the pitch.
I keep on finding problems with our game today, but I can tribute most of them to the state of the pitch. The problem is that we came out intended on playing football, but was stuck in a battle (that Southampton was in for from the start). We did not manage to adjust to the nature of the game on that pitch and that is all down to what we set out to do. This perfomance will not hurt us at all, it will only make the next game a lot easier.
I really hope we sort out the pitch and I really hope that Anderson will play as a regular because he has made us look great when he has played this season. I can find players that are better at most aspects of the game, but he has a directness and a penetrative force against teams with compact midfields that is second to none. If you like it or not, he is important to our style of play and to unlocking teams.

Lazy excuse.
It's not, as I said, they came out fighting, we came out playing. They got the advantage. I don't argue that we failed in many ways, I just stated the reason why it ended up the way it did.
That's not what happened.
Southampton noticeably shortened their passing in the second half, this allowed them to put us under pressure quickly when they lost the ball.
If the pitch was so shit that it was impossible to play football on then they would have suffered more in the second half than us.
Southampton changes was positional and that gave them the ability to play the way they did against our set up. They managed to give us a battle in the midfield and It gave them the edge. If we could have played, or had the likes of Nani on earlier, they would not have gained that advantage.
If you can't see that their batteling ability gave them the advantage in the second half, then I don't know.

Blaming the pitch? Terrible excuse.
Incase it escaped your attention, Southampton, with a team largely comprised of former championship players, played on the same pitch and bossed the second half to a level that few teams at Old Trafford do.
They did it by pressing high, working hard, and being tidy when they got the ball back. Somple, but effective tactics, which relied on there ability to keep the ball when they won it back.
Carrick and Anderson were poor - Anderson in particular, who despite a lot of people still seemingly being convinced he's a star in the making, hasn't made any major improvements in years and at times looks liek he's actually going backwards.
A decent result last night, and its what winning titles is all about - but Anderson needs to improve massively if he's ever going to have a long term career at United.
Anderson in particular, who despite a lot of people still seemingly being convinced he's a star in the making, hasn't made any major improvements in years and at times looks liek he's actually going backwards.
Nonsense.
Anderson has better statistics both in terms of goals and assists and passing accuracy than at this stage of any other season and has been visibly better so I don't see how anyone can claim he's going backwards. Last night was his worst game of the season by far but overall his improvement this season has been obvious so to say it looks like he's gone backwards is fairly ridiculous
well..it's true Southampton came out fighting...pressing higher up the pitch, winning 50/50 balls, winning tackles, but surely with our group of players we should have matched the fight, surely at united and with our players we can adapt to what the opposition are doing and alter our own tactics on the pitch to counteract what they are doing no matter who is playing.
To be honest I can see quite a number of games like this for the rest of the season, not so much against the top sides..but certainly lower and middle. We sometimes looked a bit nervous last night, and its only January...so I think we have to hold on to our seats a bit.
Yet again you talk in riddles - if you have an opinion as to why its nonsense then say it - don't just leave a single word answer.
I really don't think you get the point of an internet forum.

So is Anderson back to being shit again now?
It's hard to keep up...
He misplaced too many passes and had a lot of lose touches on the ball. Poor performance from him, but the first one in a long time.
This guy said it above my post, didn't think it needed repeating directly after.
And the word "nonsense" isn't a riddle, it just means I think you're talking complete tripe as you often do.
So this guy gave you many reasons as to why it was nonsense and if you wanna make this a goid discussion, how about you back up your claim that he is in fact "going BACKWARDS"?
I'm of the opinion that if a player is ever going to develop into a top level player he tends to do so before his mid twenties. There are exceptions - but not many.
...
He's at an age where he should be heading towards his peak, and playing 30 to 40 games a season, rather than well behind Cleverly and Carrick in the pecking order.
The other poster laid his reasons out, rather than chime in with smart arsed remarks.
"Going backwards" should be qualified - he's played less games over the last couple of seasons than before and to me is no longer as likely to be a first choice when all players are fit.
