The media overhype him, just as with hart and every other british player that shows some talent (even rooney) , but if ever there were a template for a perfect United player, its him.
So true.

That's it with Bale as with Berbatov, people get carried way by their 'elegance' and forget about effectiveness.

I don't know who compiled that but top 11 productive players in the premier league so far this season.
is this the latest myth? that teams go all out to stop him? My eyes must be playing tricks on me when he's sprinting forward in acres of room.

It's easier said than done though isn't it. I highly doubt Chris Hughton said the other week "yeah, we are okay to let Bale run with it from his own half, he'll never score from there". Or most other managers "show him onto his right foot, he'll never score with his right".
He won't come to united unfortionately, to expensive.
Hughton probably said to his players afterwards "Why didn't one of you tackle him? ...
Yes, we can offer £30m + for Lucas or Hazard, but an extra £5m/£10m for Bale would break us. We could never afford that out of £110m profits - after all we have to pay almost £30m in interest payments.
I doubt it, since he'd already seen Bale breeze past four of his defenders on a previous run with the ball to the byline. Everyone one of them would have tackled him if they could have.
Exactly. How much were we prepared to pay for Lucas Moura, £35m or something fecking crazy? For someone who is completely unproven in general football nevermind the Premier League. We always have had the money and wages for a big transfer when a world class player comes on the market and is interested, as the RVP one showed.
He's effective, not effective enough to merit talk of a £50m transfer and to be labelled world class.
If SAF wants him, I think that we have a great chance of getting him. RVP, who is one of the best strikers to ever play the game wanted us this summer, over moneybags and PL champions City.
You would think that people would have more confidence in our ability to being top players in.
Woah, easy there with the praise.
Woah, easy there with the praise.
If you take out the injuries and concentrate on his ability and individual performances in his Arsenal days, RVP is definitely up there with the best strikers to play the game.
If he went to us, Madrid or Barca instead of Arsenal and steered clear of injuries, he'd be swimming in trophies by now. For a player of his ability, he should have a feck load more honours at 29 years of age.
Fair enough, it's a far fetched comment. But my point still stands in regards to us having the ability to sign top players when we really want them.

Oh so he's gonna cost us £35m is he?
Aaaah ok.
I seem to remember this being Daniel Levy, the guy who will fleece as much pennies from any fcuker willing to do business, or else the deals off. This, coupled with the fact Bale is the hottest talent he has ever had makes you sound ridiculous. Levy probably thinks Bales the new Ronaldo and will be holding out for £50 at the absolute minimum.
When was the last time United ever spent anything like that in the transfer market? Answer: never. Even city haven't gone to that extent. The only club dumb enough to spend that kind of cash on one player is Chelsea, and look how that turned out.
£30/35 million at an absolute push. Those are our superstar prices, the type signing we acquire once every 5+ years. I just don't see us spending 50m MINAMUM on a player.
It's not our style, it's too risky, it goes against SAFs principles and we are not in a position to do it.
Not to mention PSG, City, Chelsea, Zenit, Anzhi and Madrid can come over the top of us with ease.
Don't let your boner for Bale blind you from the realities. Yes we have a chance of singing him, but I'd say that's more to do with who we are than what we can pay. If levy holds out for silly money, then the harsh realities of supply and demand say we won't get him.
Man Utd are the only team I've seen make special arrangements for Bale this season completely disrupting their game and probably throwing away two points. If you think it's a myth that teams would set up to stop a teams biggest threat then I don't know where to start.
Doesn't surprise me.
He'll go on to another level if and when he moves and teams aren't two man marking him and setting up to counter him so much.
That much is obvious.
you don't think if ronnie wanted to come home this summer, that fergus wouldn't put in 50+ to get him?

Or fecking Stevie G for that matter.
Is this proof that Bale isnt effective? How about comparing him with players in his positions instead of strikers. Everyone on that list except Cazorla, Mata and Gerrard play in more advanced positions than Bale.

Bizarrely he gets a hell of a lot more hype than the above mentioned.
Bale is a very good player. He's not worth £50mil. We're never, ever going to buy him.
