Anderson

This has been his best season in a United shirt, in my opinion, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season.
He's a squad player, and he'll always be a squad player. Considering I'd given up on him before the start of the season and saw him getting sold to Russia or somewhere it's an improvement, for me. He'll never be our main man in the middle of the park, I don't think he'll ever be a regular International player too.

He is a fecking good player when he does play. But after his first season it wasn't too unreasonable to think he would end up in the same bracket as Fabregas, Gerrard etc.

If you were to say that now, you would get rightly laughed at. Which is a shame.

Well well well

Manchester United midfielder Anderson claims he has tried to leave the Premier League club 'many times' but the matter is out of his hands.

The Brazil international joined the Red Devils from Porto in 2007 but has failed to establish himself as a regular starter.

When asked if he could return to Portugal, the 24-year-old admitted he wants to leave Old Trafford but he remains under contract.

He told Globo Esporte: "What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so."

While he would like to play for the Brazil national team again - his last appearance was back in 2008 - he is focused on the club's second leg against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, as well as United's relentless push towards regaining the Premier League crown.

He added: "The national team is always good but we have to think about the second leg and about the English league."

The Manchester United midfielder has confirmed that the Brazilian press would even like to leave the English club, but it has not been possible. And they asked him for Portugal.

In Manchester United since 2007, when the English club paid 31.5 million euros to FC Porto, the Brazilian Anderson does not hide the desire to play more regularly, something that has been lacking in the red devils. launched by Option Alex Ferguson only in the final minutes against the Real Madrid-Manchester United for the Champions League, the former FC Porto did not hide the Brazilian press who would like to play more often, to be able to aspire to a place in the national team.

"Selection? Selection is always good," he said, despite having little hope of being summoned by Luiz Felipe Scolari. Faced by Brazilian journalists with the possibility of returning to Portugal, Anderson said - with a Portuguese accent, said the Globoesporte - since there much to try to quit Manchester United. "What can I say I have three more years of contract, I tried to leave several times and never got it," he said

Not much to read into that IMO.

He just wants to play more, what's wrong with that? His injuries have made his playing time less than desired but one could hardly accuse him of not trying his best.

*shrug* if he leaves and we get £8m for him it will probably be the best for all parties.

Doesn't have the consistency of a top class player, but maybe going to a club that won't rotate him will help him with that.

He did allegedly run away to Brazil once, if I remember correctly. He also signed a new contract, so who the feck knows.

when Phil Jones plays in midfield instead of you.. its probably time to leave

Maybe they just misunderstood what he was saying as his mouth was full at the time?

Well the English doesn't really make sense so it won't be a surprise if they're out of context - not that they're significant, mind.

He's been consistently good since the start of last season... but his injury record is holding him back big time since he joined!

That said he will start on Monday.

Must be something lost in transition considering how good a relationship he shares with Sir Alex. Doubt that'd have been the case had he tried to force his way out.

Look, I think it's all bullshit. I've look at the news at GloboEsporte and there's nothing of Anderson there. The only recent one is of him talking about him and Ronaldo, and there's nothing about contract or him trying to leave.

Ojogo and Sky quote Globoesporte, but there's nothing on the site.

Disappointed to hear that, I like his character and sometimes his play. When he is on form, he absolutely dominates games.

Not really. Ando's comfortably the better CM. Jones does a very specific job at CM when he plays. Doubt he'l be preferred over Ando for regular games.

He can feck off if true. On the plus side we can stop wasting money on overtime for our canteen staff.

Well if he didn't get injured everytime a mosquito sat on his hand and if he wasn't woefully inconsistent he'd definitely play more.

Jeez, I wasn't using his injuries as an excuse, just stating fact.

Personally, I think for him it'd better if he moved clubs.

Is that sufficient clarification???

For someone who's desperate to leave, he looks happy enough in team photos...

I don't get it, people that don't like Anderson and want him gone are now moaning he tried to leave...

I think people confuse wanting to leave, with hating it at the club. (not you Steve, but people who seem to be taking it personally) The lad probably wants to go to a club where he can start consistently and try get into the Brazilian national side. He knows that it's unlikely to happen at United due to competition but he isn't a prick who kicks up a fuss.

In his case, it would be difficult to do that even if he did leave. United aren't the cause of him getting injured every two games.

Is Ando so vital to us that SAF would stop him leaving (and 'several times' too)? Can't see that myself.
