Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Plenty of games have been in development, developers have had devs kits for a whilst. We've already seen at least three next gen games already.

Also although there is no direct leaks e.g. screens/videos we know what most of Sony's 1st party devs are working on.

Few stories saying that EA will show off Battlefield 4 with the PS4 launch.

Reckon GTA V will be a PS4 title then?

No it's out to early. They may port it to the PS4 but it's a current gen title. Remember they were originally going to release it in May, but they have delayed it till September and the PS4 will be out in NA/Japan around Mid November.

I'd love if they just wheeled out a PS3 except someone's scribbled a 4 on the top of it with a crayon.

"Will you be able to play old PS3 games in it?"
"No"
"Why?"
"Because it's got a 4 written on it, see here?" *points impatiently at the 4*
"Er..."
"No more questions"

Possibly PS4 version will include the whole of S.A. might be worth the extra wait for that and the new hardware would piss it.

Despite having to get up early I'm going to stay up to watch this. Sony don't let me down!

 I'd actually pay to see this

I wonder if they'll show off a couple of games running on the PS4 and provide an estimate on pricing or if they will hold back on that until E3?

Hopefully the European release date isn't too long after Japan/USA. A simultaneous global release would be nice.

They will probably give a rough estimate of price in Yen, maybe dollars. But they will most likely wait till E3 and see was MS do with the nextbox before setting a price point.

Could have a simultaneous release, Sony are pretty much building a machine from 3rd party hardware. So hardware production like it was previously.

They will show off a few games today, not sure about hands on...

As for GTA V, they won't make a different version. They may not even port it. Rockstar are releasing it in September, 3 months before next gen, and you'll nobody rushes to uptake the next gen anyway. So they may feel they will get enough sales from just releasing on the current gen.

The event is in New York, they aren't going to show the price in Yen and not dollars, but I don't think they will announce a price tonight anyway.

Weaste would explode

Weaste would still tell us how awesome it is though.

Well if they do (unlikely) announce a price in $, just change the $ for £ and that's how much it will be. Always the same.

I'd laugh if it was just an announcement of a new series of Sony TV's and they just wanted as much media hype as possible so let the PS4 rumours snowball.

Why would they port GTA5 to PS4 when virtually everyone will have bought it for previous generation anyway?

This is a massive "feck YoU" to Microsoft, "We know that we have a much better box than you, and we're going first".

You're like a child.

What time is the event, Weaste?

What, because of the pronunciation of the number 4 in Japanese? Guess what 4 is not a Japanese character, and it's named in English. Of course it's going to be the PS4.

...

If it really only costs 400 USD I'm going to buy it without thinking. I'm excited about the new Playstation and also the new Playstation won't be named as Playstation 4 (4 = Dead / shi in Japanese).

I bet they follow Apple's logic and call it the Playstation 5.

Bet you can use the VITA as a controller for the new system ala Wii U.
