Manchester United v Sevilla FC - Rio's Testimonial

It's a testimonial for one of your greatest ever player, it's a match at OT, it's Moyes first match at home. Losing against an average Sevilla team with that scoreline is embarrassing to me

We are not allowed to use this term on the caf anymore. The top reds will come out in force otherwise.

What team did Sevilla put out compared to the one that was in montenegro last night?

Drama queen.

Crap night, but was a bit of an odds and sods line up.

Add in VP, Vidic, Nani, Evra and Rafael, and play Carrick from the start and it starts to look a lot different I think.

Who knows, maybe Rooney might get his head on too!

I actually think the club let Rio down tonight.

That was just any old pre-season game. Nothing even remotely close to what a testimonial is like.

Yup.

Everyone should criticize the club or else you'll me a member of the feared "top reds".

Awful performance and a really shit tribute to Rio. Our defense was shit but not a surprise considering that Rafael, Evra and Vidic didn't feature. Our midfield is really awful though, Cleverley looked a completely clueless player while Ando was surprisingly much better. Kagawa was non existent. Still we must sign someone there. Kongodbia was excellent and would be a valuable addition to our team. I would be delighted even with Fellaini at the moment. On the bright side, Januzaj looked a star in the making.

The season is starting and Moyes needs to do something. The worst pre-season results I have ever seen United having. We looked like last year, playing awful for majority of the matches, but without the winning mentality. A big season is ahead and with the tough start we need some good performances in the beginning or the pressure on the manager will be insane. Still, I am pretty sure that when the real matches begin (from this weekend) everything will be different.

Rio doesn't even get to address the crowd? Or are BT really that shit?

They make millions, I ate donuts for breakfast and have hemorrhoids. If they cant take the ranting of a bunch of internet cnuts like us, then they can go fook themselves. The only way I could see to make this thread is if Rio is your lover or MUFC writes you checks. If both those answers are no, then go have some spotted dick pudding and recognize we are a mess.

Yes the twat with the mic strikes again. Did he seriously ask Rio if he is disappointed with the scoreline?

This broadcast is paid for with all the 50ps BT phoneboxes have taken off when I should've had change.

The way they played the match the result did mattered. If they had played it how they should play a testimonial, then it would have been fun and a laugh and it wouldn't have mattered at all.

Bit of a shit tribute wasn't it. The stadium was barely half full, it was a lacklustre performance and there wasn't any testimonial like appearances.

Couldn't agree with you more. This was a total non-event. Neville's Testimonial was more what I would have expected this to be like.

Add in that Rio's one of the funnest players at the club with celebrity friends and such... guarantee this wasn't his idea of Testimonial at all.

I don't mind that we lost because it's just a meaningless game, but we should have at least had fun honoring Rio in his game. Whoever came up with the plan of using this as a regular preseason game really let Rio down.

I think majority of the supporters left before he could even get on the pitch.

That's not a valid excuse; all he had to do was walk onto the pitch with the announcer. Neville, Scholes, Giggs, Ole all addressed the crowd at the end of their testimonials.

The whole thing was as flat as a pancake. Why tell Rio to make it competitive two days before a game at Wembley. It should have been midweek and then they could have enjoyed themselves.
