Swansea City vs. Manchester United

I want to see Kagawa and Rooney or Zaha to come on for Giggs (obvious reasons) and Valencia (yellow).
should see us improve as well IMO

Sigh, Clev doesnt seem to be good enough atm

Dare I say, once again, not good enough for us, period. I am sure I will get flamed, but by the end of the season I bet there are a lot more thinking the same.

Swansea have been pants since going behind, if they do that every time they go down this season they won't improve that much.

Kagawa for giggs and Anderson for Cleverley please. Or even fabio for clev and put jones in mid. Cleverley has been awful.

That 2:0 up at HT flatters us is an early contender for the understatement of the season.

Having said that, for all of Swansea's possession DDG has had little to do so far.

Yes, the same Giggs who got our assist. People need to understand his role. He is there to provide magic, and he did. Yet again.

Played some nice passes. That one to Jones was inch-perfect over 30 odd yards. He might not make the 90 though but he's been one of our better players in the 1st half. Cleverley looks a bit rusty as does Vidic but that's only to be expected. I reckon we'll see Rooney on at some point.

Wow, first day back at work, 2-0 up at half time.

This thread doesn't reflect that.

I'm either getting old and indifferent or a decent % of you are complete tossers.

Possibly both.

yep, despite terrible posession etc I've been very impressed by our back 4, with the exception of some screw ups by Jones they were excellent.

Been saying it for over a year, his level is at a mid table team right now, but is decent enough as a squad player here. Nowhere near good enough to become a starter here, he's only a starter because of our lack of options.

Half time thoughts:

- Slow, slightly rusty opening. Classic "first day back" United, especially on an away day.
- Toni looking more confident, maybe the shirt change is a good thing after all.
- Slightly disappointed with my first matchday in the mains. I thought the meltdown was bad in the newbies last year, but some of the stuff being posted in here is beyond belief:

i.e. three dodgy passes from Giggs and kneejerk response that he's past it and has no place on the team  ~ The man is still class, has a wonderful footballing brain, patience, composure, and can still do a job for us. I'd say that assist for RvP sums up his quick thinking and vision.

I'm not trying to sound like a 'top red' tosser, merely wishing that some here would have a little patience, stop thinking they know better, and throwing their toys out the pram that we don't dominate from the 1st minute and go 5-0 up before the break.
Personally, when I moan it's not about the scoreline. It's more because I want to enjoy watching united. Let's be honest, on a scale of 1 to 10, that was -500 with regards to the sexyness of the football.

Decent squad player for me but shouldn't be in our strongest 11. But wouldn't discard him because of that they can't all be superstars.

I think we already know this, but he is a lad brought up through the academy which is great to see. It helps the club maintain its identity on the pitch. He should be a sqaud player in a great team. Unfortunately he is the best we have atm hopefully we get somebody in.

That deflected attempt at a pass you mean? The one who provided the magic was RVP, it wasn't even a half chance and he stuck it away.

We are going about playing exactly same as last year or last few years under SAF. Deadly on counter attack and putting ball in opposition penalty area and having players there to finish. We are still retaining our weaknesses though. Need a midfield general obviously. Cleverley is not having a great game but hasn't been dire or so as has been made out by some of you. Let's see who replaces Giggs in 2nd half, Rooney or Kagawa.

RVP and Welbeck have been fantastic.

Cleverley and Giggs absolutely shocking.

Also, why do we only seem to be able to control a match in terms of possession and composure once we're ahead? Its like we need the lead to calm the nerves or something. Very strange.

Jesus wept. None of our player have been shocking in the slightest. We have been calm the entire game but feck me if there is another team playing as well, trying to cause us problem. We sat back and soaked some of their pressure and have been clinical in front of goal when we have gotten there.

What else do you want?

At this stage of the Moyes era, results are more important than performances.

Playing like this away at Swansea is no surprise. Leading 2-0 at half time to a team who can pass you to death is very good going. But being clinical is more important than being pretty. Leaving Swansea with all 3 points in any circumstances will be great.

Cleverley hasn't looked brilliant though. Hopefully pulls his finger out, or we cut our losses on him today and give Anderson 45 minutes.

We have looked shaky defensively at times. Jones has definitely been poor.

But I wouldn't be worried abut their possession at all in the 1st 30 mins. It was completely expected.

Think in germeral it's almost been a typical Fergie away performance. Apart from a couple of individual errors we have done quite well as a unit all over the pitch.

I don't get the Giggs comments. He has been our only player today offering creativity and made a wonderful assist when we were getting outplayed from Swansea. He cannot control games, but he can offer magic at times that will provide goals.

Hardly knee jerk to comment on giggs sloppy passing, it's been part of his game for the last couple of years. It's the price we pay if we want his creativity and in a midfield 3 it's not too bad. It's still frustrating to watch though!

Giggs one great ball 60% missed passes. Welbeck fantastic in every area of the pitch except the final third, unless he doesn't need to think and then finished well.

Valencia looks a little bit more the last time in donned the 25 shirt in a PL game.

Swansea playing well and are getting round the back of us via our fullbacks, however defensively they look poor.

We are winning 0-2 but the game is far from over, very open.

Don't get all the Cleverley and Giggs bashing.

We're playing Swansea away who are one of the best passing sides in the league, on a wet surface on top of that.

We always start the season slowly and build momentum throughout. We lost 1-0 away at Everton last year and people are bitching about being 2-0 up away at Swansea. Please.

Clev has been shocking tbh. Jones, Val and Giggs have been hit and miss as well.

Apart from that our players look well up for it though I think. Great to have Vida back and I think Evra hasnt looked as good as he is looking now for a long time.

Giggs has caused Swansea a few problems with his movement and he's grabbed an assist for RVP... Not sure he's deserving of the flak he's getting. Other then that, thought Danny, Valencia and RVP
have been very good.

Clev's been a bit shit though.

To everyone that keep praising Giggs for his assist. You didn't realise it was a massive deflection right?

Nah, we are not using wingers that much. Even Valencia is playing much more central than usual.
