Bundesliga 13/14

Auba and Mkitariyan are fantastic signings. Really minimizing the loss of Goetze as much as possible. Aubameyang is the kind of player that would excel in England. He's fecking rapid.
Mhiki is probably right now a better player than Götze was last season. Götze was always more about talent and potential, imo. He was a great player with a few outstanding games, but Dortmund were equally tough to beat without him last season, as shown in the CL final. Dortmund are a better team than last season and have more squad depth.

Reus deserved that goal, brilliant performance.

Dortmund are probably the best team to watch in the world these days. They're brilliant going forward. Hamburgs defence seems to have given up though.

Don´t forget their third big signing, the Greek international Sokratis, who would start as CB in any Bundesliga team bar Bayern and Dortmund. And then there is the promising youngster Hofmann. Dortmund is looking really good.

Everyone who thought Bayern will walk the league was clearly wrong. So far, I'd say Dortmund looks like the best team in Europe and I'm sure they will get even better.

What the feck just happened?

I switched on the Chelsea match for the last ten minutes and Dortmund have scored thrice.

Well, Guardiola has Guardiolized Bayern from what I've seen. And that doesn't play to Bayern's strengths. I'd say Dortmund have a good chance to win the league. Weather they have the depth to do what they did in the UCL again remains to be seen.

But I fecking love Dortmund and Klopp.

Borussia Dortmund with 32 (!!!) shots in this game. That is fecking mental.

It's not like we're playing bad football or aren't winning games, 4 wins and 1 draw in probably more difficult games than Dortmund so far is still impressive with all the changes Guardiola made and all the injuries we have at the moment. The reason why Bayern won't walk the league is Dortmund being fecking brilliant and playing with a lot determination.

They also added to their squad this summer giving them a lot more depth. They weren't able to really focus on both the champions league and the bundesliga last season, but this season they're looking stronger overall, despite Gotze leaving.

Reus said in the post game interview he didn't really start well into the season, but slowly he's getting closer to his best  . feck, I really don't want to face Dortmund in the CL this season.

That is undoubtly true. It is not like the team today was the best possible formation. Our most creative player Gündogan is missing (who missed him today? I didn´t), Kuba is missing, who despite not being in top form right now is always a threat. Then there is Piszczek, one of Dortmund´s few genuine world class players, who would probably add even more drive from the flank.

The departure of Götze was a massive blow to the club and us fans, especially from an emotional stand point, but Klopp has proven once again, that he can compensate that. In fact, he has made them stronger than ever before.

Not surprised by Aubameyang, showed his talent many times in France but he lacked intelligent teammates who could release the ball to him in space. Dortmund plays the perfect football for him.

Nope, he has back problems. He only played the first league game for us. Nuri Sahin is doing a really good job filling this void.

Would you say Sahin is back to his best for you guys yet? I didn't used to watch Dortmund all too much in his first spell at Dortmund, just the odd game here and there. He's looking very good this season though.

He has not met his former peak, no, but it is also not easy for him. 2010/2011 was the last season, when Dortmund´s play was centered around a single player and that was Sahin. He is suppossed to play a more subtle role now and is still in the process of adapting.

Watching Dortmunds game now. Their football is just sexual. It's like watching a football party(or something equally corny).

Also I find it nuts how well the new boys have fit into the Dortmund system.

6th goal. Beautiful football.

Hoffenheim - Gladbach 2-0 after 70 minutes. Volland is brilliant, can't believe he extended his contract at Hoffenheim. Dortmund should buy him as a replacement for Lewandowski.

Yes. I expected them to make a move for him this summer. Hopefully he has an exit clause in his contract, he belongs to a bigger club.
I doubt he'd be a 1for1 replacement for Lewandowski though.

Is there anyone available who would be? Well probably Dortmund find someone, but I think he's capable of playing as a lone forward with a few tweaks, especially with wide players like Reus and Aubameyang who make great runs into the box. And it would help the nationalteam a lot.

I'm not sure he's ready for that role yet. With zero international experience and one season at top level at best under his belt he'd be a bit of a gamble. Especially since Gündogan's and Reus' contract extensions might be affected by how the whole thing plays out.

Gündogan needs to sign a contract extension before the season is over. If not, he won't stay anyway.

Even if that is the case it will probably still matter what replacement for Lewandowski they promise him.

2 Minutes of added time was beyond ridiculous; I was expecting 5 at least. Overall it was a terrible refereeing performance.
It's always like that in Germany. At best you get 3 minutes and there has to happen something big to get that 3rd minute, like 10 minutes injury break or something. It's ridiculous, every German football fan I know complains about it and loves the premier league for the longer added time at the end.

Great stuff from Nürnberg, now we need to beat Schalke and we look really good. If Bayern is within 3 points to Dortmund after 8 games, it would be a brilliant start with our tough fixtures and Dortmund's easy start to the season.

Get used to it - it's extremely annoying in the Bundesliga. Best example was a few years ago when Dortmund trailed Schalke by three goals after 54 minutes. Two red cards, a penalty and four goals - three for Dortmund - in the second half, and guess how many minutes were added at full time? Exactly. None.

They even sometimes end up games few seconds before 90 minutes(at least by official clock).

Thankfully Hannover got the last minute winner. My bet is still on.

Bayern Schalke starts in 10minutes. The line-ups are:

Schalke:
Hildebrand - Aogo, Matip, Höwedes, Uchida - Neustädter, Jones - Draxler, Boateng, Farfan - Szalai
Bayern:
Neuer - Alaba, Dante, Boateng, Rafinha - Lahm - Ribery, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Robben - Mandzukic

Today's results:
Hamburg - Bremen 0:2
Hannover - Augsburg 2:1
Mainz - Leverkusen 1:4
Nürnberg - Dortmund 1:1
Wolfsburg - Hoffenheim 2:1

Yesterday:
Gladbach - Braunschweig 4:1

Nürnberg was surprisingly strong today, probably their best performance of the season. Today also highlighted why Bayern is still favorite for the title. Their squad depth is just miles better then Dortmunds they had to two reserve team players today with Durn and Duksch and especially with Duksch it was quite noticeable. On top of that they might have lost Schmelzer and Reus today as well. Both not with serious injuries but are probably out for a few days up to a week.

Schlake against Bayern should be entertaining to watch. After the bad season start Schalke look like they are back on track and I hope for a close match and a Schalke win to be quite honest. The league needs to stay a close afair as long as possible and if Bayern go on a run so early in the season there might be no stopping them.
