Taking a striker off isn't even the issue there. The problem is messing about with the back four in the last five minutes of the game, it happens almost every time a manager does that.

Honestly, Moyes has to take the blame for this one. Why the feck would you sub Nani for Giggs? Why? If there's one player even more frustratingly inconsistent than Nani, it's Giggs. Then he brings on Welbeck, when Chicharito is exactly the sort of player to nick a 2nd while Southampton presses. And then the coup de grace - Smalling. Kagawa must be wondering what he needs to do to get a look in.

I don't even get that, they weren't anywhere near scoring in the last 10-15 minutes bar that one effort from Clyne. There was no need to bring on another defender or change the back four around.
Taking Nani off was the start of the collapse. We haven't looked the same going forward since. Subbing Fellaini was the right call but the tactical change that followed was bizarre. I don't understand what Moyes is trying to achieve, honestly.

Not one for ciritising the manager, and Moyes is on a learning curve, but that's down to him. Sit back at one nil is tactics from 10 or more years ago, it doesnt work in modern leagues where nearly every team in it have very very capable forward lines.
Sadly, we should have been 3 up given the chances we had even before this, had we kept going o the front foot we would have scored more by the end.
