Really pissed off hearing people say how "the players might have lost belief in him" or any other such rubbish. These players have so much to prove now Ferguson is gone and they simply havent had the balls to rise to the challenge. Rooney, Carrick and De Gea aside, the majority of the squad have been utterly dreadful. Its very easy to sit back and blame Moyes but again yesterday, the line up we had out should have been more than enough to win. "lost the fear factor" is another blanket nonsense term that players can hide behind. We may not be getting it tactically right and of course Moyes has made mistakes but we are playing like a team who are just about to sack their manager not one who just got a new one. Wheres the willingness to prove yourself? the energy?
So few people are talking about what is actually happening on the pitch. David Moyes cant be blamed for schoolboy defending for the goal yesterday or allowing a west brom player to jog from the fecking half way line. Allow a free header for liverpool. Welbeck missing easy chances in two games weve drawn due to complete lack of ability or lack of common sense. Inexplicable passing that goes straight out of play. Vidic making Altidore look like drogba in his prime. Allowing a 5'5 italian midfielder a free header that should have put sunderland 2 up. Utterly appalling and unforgivable ineptitude from valencia and young. Basic losing of position, never having more than one option on, aimless crosses going out of play on the far side. Beaten to every single ball against city and playing like we were running in sand. Management can only do so much.
Ive said it before and I stress it again, this bunch of players is getting away with total murder. They've given themselves a free pass knowing moyes will take the blame. Theres no passion, theres no unpredictability, theres no self belief, theres no confidence in their own ability and if they needed ferguson to babysit them and fight their battles then we need a total revamp of the squad because succesful teams do not have those types of characters. Dont try argue that Keane, Cantona, Neville, Schmeichel, Scholes, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Pallister, Bruce or many other of our great players would have imploded in belief the way the current bunch have.
There is simply no arguing that they are making mind numbingly bad decisions with shocking regularity, awful finishing, passing, crossing and positional sense. The absolute basics have went out the window but its all ok, the new manager can take the blame. Im shocked the fans arent making the point. moyes of course is the predictable target, and thats the problem. They all need a wake up call, unfortunately in the spoilt millionaire generation it probably wont ever hit home. A mention of a drop in salary or another player on a better contract and everybody wakes up though. On present form many dont deserve the shirt and have a lot to prove in the next few months. If they dont Id completely support moyes in overhauling the squad even if it takes 2-3 years.
