CONFIRMED #mufc team vs Norwich: De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Young, Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs, Kagawa, Hernandez.

I have a feeling it'll be more of a 4-3-3 than a 4-4-1-1 with Kagawa in behind like a lot of people are assuming.

Where do you even start with the post "Smalling and Young on the right is relegation standard"

I mean how do you even address that point?

Lack of power in the team today with no Rooney, Welbeck or Valencia.

We really need Kagawa to step up today, he really can't have a day of anonymity again.

You don't. You just smile politely, pat him on the head and back away.

The side has a distinct lack of creativity without Rooney. I hope we can sneak a win here. I don't expect it to be pretty.

The forum has some appalling posts today. Must be something in the air. I'm staying away from this thread, assuming this game will be the struggle it could be.

  • Norwich XI Ruddy,Martin,Olsson,Fer, R Bennett, Bassong Nguena,Snodgrass,Johnson,Hooper,Hoolahan,Redmond

I got 4-5 players that are not starting in my Fantasy XI

Rooney, Januzaj, Touré, Negredo

Anyone know if Rio is injured? It's quite weird, despite him being quite crap this season, that he isn't even making the bench today. He hasn't played at all lately, maybe Moyes found the mole?

Big call if Rooney's being saved for Spurs but I'd take that over him being injured.

This is gonna be a tough afternoon. I'll take a scrapy one nil win right now.

Rooney rested. Seems a sensible decision. Rushed back from a groin injury vs West Ham then played 5 days later vs Hull, and would have to play two days later? Makes sense. I know it's a tough spell but I'm pretty sure that fact he's being rested means he wasn't match fit which would make sense.

Two away games in 48 hours is crazy. But I'd rather we rest him here and he's fit and firing for the Spurs match than to play him today, he plays shite through fatigue and/or gets an injury and is out for a month. I hope we can win today but there's no way Moyes would have rested Rooney today unless he felt he needed to.

Also Januzaj on the bench is right too. So no complaints with the team. It will be very very tough and I would take any victory.

I hope Giggs plays in close proximity to Kagawa, them two exchanging passes through the middle could be key.

I'm bricking it with these injuries...

Luckily it's just Norwich and not a top 4 candidate.

4411 seem a good idea. I'm happy with 0-0 after 60 mins, then bring on Welbeck.

Best team Moyes could have picked in the circumstances but I don't fancy our chances with that team

That's actually a better side than I expected in terms of the personnel. That's more than good enough for today. If Hernandez gets the service, he will score and Kagawa should have a big point to prove. Giggs and Young are very capable.

Cleverley and Evra have been absolutely hammered in the last few weeks. We really need a new left back in January if we are never going to use the back ups.

Rooney rested completely? Surely it would make more sense to have him on the bench if he isn't injured?

I reckon the old Rooney Christmas Party was in full swing this weekend...
