Sunderland vs. Manchester United

Can't wait for the Moyes apologists to rally the troops after we crashed out of another cup competition.

It's a two legged tie we can't "crash" out of anything tonight.

But lets not let that get in the way of your tabloid like sensationalism.

Did anyone else even react that much when we conceded? I was just like, "yep, standard". Not even angry or going mad at the TV or anything. Just an acceptance now that this is what we are.

Half the ground left around me as if it was the cue they were waiting for when Bony scored on Sunday.

We don't have a player that will put the fear into the opposition team. Say we are on a break and if it's Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez running at them, it was such a big fear for the opposition team. Now we dither on the ball and can't break for nothing. Even Rooney doesn't dribble and score nowadays. Teams worked us out with our tendency to feed the ball to the wingers and get the cross in.

Thatn 2008 season

What's worrying is that most people are still relying on Carrick to be our main midfielder. He looks a shadow of his former self since his return, and right now that's costing us. Of course it doesn't help when he's got a 40 year old alongside him, or a ghost.

We need to go 4-4-2. Chico on for Giggs and even Kagawa for Valencia straight away at HT. If Sunderland do us, I can't continue that sentence for sanity purposes.

There's something badly wrong here. We're constantly conceding to teams that offer virtually no threat. Too much faith in average players by the last regime & this.

It is a worry, indeed. I make that about ten times this season whereby we've fallen behind to sides that haven't offered an ounce of threat for large periods of the game. Once or twice you can put down as being one of those things, but this happens constantly.

Moyes cannot buy a stroke of luck. He must've culled forty-seven black cats back in August to deserve this ill-fortune. We may need him to cull eleven more after the break as our lads aren't showing much fight in them tonight thus far.

Not worthy of half their paychecks at the moment.

Cleverley has been shocking, probably the worst central midfield performance I can remember this season. He has given the ball away every fecking time.

I really had to laugh when they (we) scored, Moyes can't catch a break.

What is the point? We have one attacker, Januzaj, and whenever he goes forward nobody goes to support him and nobody gets into the box to attack crosses. Is Welbeck playing up front cos he's stationed as a midfielder. Although he's doing more in midfield than Giggs, Cleverley and Carrick. While Valencia is doing his best impression of either Bebe or the invisible man. And at the back...LOL!

This seems as scripted as the late goals against Liverpool when Hodgson was their boss. Feels uncanny. But the truth probably is that both teams need(ed) major changes.

Can someone tell me how we expect to score when all we rely on is wingplay, and there is usually only one man in the box?

Not even disappointed, I just expected it and here for the ride.

Januzaj. At least as good as Tevez and Rooney in a year or two.

Don't worry we can still win the CL.

I'm getting used to this. It's bad enough being completely awful going forward but to make the basic defensive errors we do is just becoming a joke.

Carrick looks off the pace. Cleverley is having brainfarts every 3 minutes. Vidic and Evans don't look massively comfortable. Rafael and Evra are struggling with overlaps again. Valencia isn't offering a great deal. Welbeck is struggling to lead the line alone even whilst Januzaj somehow looks decent through the middle.

But I'm used to it. Sunderland for the COC as they have the upper hand over City.
A draw would have been fair. fecking shit goal to concede. Our midfield is a joke though. Carrick is in the worst shape I can remember and Clev can neither pass nor control a ball.
You know it's only half time?

Can we get someone on for Cleverley please?

Anyone the guy is a liability such a mediocre player in such an important position. Tonight he's won the ball back more times than I have ever seen him in a game but his unwillingness to pass forward or be physical is just infuriating. Would rather have Valencia Anderson or Jones in the middle of the park. On a side note why the feck is Evans giving away a free kick in injury time.

where did I say "tonight", troll?

Sunderland never deserved that goal. DDG hardly touched the ball all half.

Swansea didn't deserve their goals or win, nor did Newcastle, nor Spurs. All of those games there was nothing to choose between the levels of shitness between the sides, yet we lost those games. Teams are scoring and beating us and playing like shite themselves.

I also meant in the first half Jesus Christ

Luck or whatever you want to call it, we are conceding goals against everyone and offering very little in return. We don't exactly deserve to be winning the game or anything, so losing a goal is hardly a surprise.

You guys are incredibly confusing, although im sure we have done it plenty of times!

Please don't treat him as a typical United fan.

He's an absolute cretin.

If one thing needs to be made clear in this thread, it's that he does not represent United fans views.

And the winger is Valencia. Seriously, why the feck he starts every game?

He comes across as somebody who desperately tries to be the man we're looking for in the middle. Miserably failing at that it has to be said, he's a backup player at best.
