I've been thinking, if we can get the win and go through, the desire to avoid a cricket score loss in the next round could see Moyes get the boot!

Rafael CD2- Evra
Carrick Fellaini
-- Cleverley --
Rooney - Kagawa
-----RvP

or

----Rafael CD2 Evra

-----Cazza - Fezza

Nani/AY - Kagawa - Rooney

------RvP---------

Rooney
Welbeck - Kagawa - Valencia
Fellaini - Giggs
Buttner - Smalling - Jones - Rafael
De Gea

it will be a boring 0-0 with us having one shot at goal with young and valencia ripping the flanks apart

I don't trust us to keep a clean sheet.. and I don't think we can score 4..

I'll be happy as long as we don't embarrass ourselves..

Roll on this one.

I think I'm the only one who is right up for it. But I think that's because I'm off work this week, and have managed not to speak to anyone about Sunday.

I've got a feeling it could be a Fulham style cross assault and Moyes will say he don't know how we didn't win.
:(

Don't see us winning, let alone turning around the deficit. Hoping this is Moyes' final game.

For weeks everyone has been calling for us to set up this way, with more or less the team that played Liverpool. Where do we possibly go from here? I think we're done for this season in all honesty.

4-3-3 or a 4-1-4-1 would suffice to be honest, or possibly a diamond formation, 4-2-3-1 isn't a very good rounded formation, especially with wingers.

Olympiakos should be a 4-3-3 or diamond though.

I think Welbeck will get a start but probably on the left as I don't see Moyes dropping Rooney or RvP. I also think Valencia will be back in on the right. The only thing I am not sure about is whether Cleverley comes in to play alongside Fellaini or if we persist with the sloth-esque combination of fellaini and Carrick.

I can see him getting the City game.. but agree with that team. Although I think RVP will start. Moyes doesn't have the backbone to drop him and Carrick(not that it'd matter much). Is Evans fit?

I keep thinking " okay, this time well surely do it" only to be subsequently disappointed.

Is Chica fit? I;d go with him, those thinking RVP and Januzaj should start need to stop making the same mistakes they blame the manager for. Kagawa,Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez for me.

Everyone who put Mata in their line up should get an amusing tagline.

3-0 isn't impossible, but even with a superior starting 11, we still lost the tactical battle in the away leg. Moyes has to go for it, but it's made even harder as I imagine there's going to be alot of unhappy heads in the camp after that result on Sunday.

RVP has been underwhelming, so feck it. It'll be hugely unpopular, but I'd totally play Fellaini behind Rooney with Kagawa and Welbeck either side. Fellaini's ball retention is solid, and he's always a threat in the air. If we're going to cross it in constantly, at least have him in there. RVP's once stellar hold up play has been awful this season, and Rooney's first touch is a total lottery. Fellaini's is remarkably consistent, and he gives you something which is very hard to defend.

Under SAF, I'd have been very confident. Now, I just cant see us scoring 3, let alone without conceding. Think we'l win the tie by a goal and go out.

Young and Valencia should be fresh for this one.

No.

We need a good win to go through and Moyes needs to show some balls and drop a few players. Rooney or RVP need to be dropped and let's give Kagawa a roll behind the striker. I think it's made for him to play.

Whatever Moyes choose to do, he simply has to play Kagawa in this game. He made a positive impact when he came on as a sub last time, and he's been one of our best players in Europe this season.

The question is: where will Kagawa play? On the left, or behind Rooney, with RVP on the bench? I'd prefer the latter, but I doubt Moyes dares to bench RVP for the most important game of the season so far.

I hope the player's tell him to feck off and go out and play their own attacking game personally.

I doubt they fancy shutting up shop and hoping for a few set pieces.

Personally this game is making me nervous. In the sense that it will be the final straw with regards to the season we have had. If we are out, we will be playing to keep a Europa league place, not even fighting for a CL spot.

None of those feckers, bar 2 or 3, deserve to start if you ask me.

De Gea

Rafael --- Smalling (if fit) --- Rio ---- Buttner

Cleverley --- Fletcher

Welbeck --- Kagawa --- Giggs

Hernandez.

For the sake of being serious, I suppose you have one of Van Persie or Rooney up top, but I'm deadly serious about the rest of it.

Moyes doesn't know how to play 4231, even against Liverpool it might have looked like 4231 on paper but was still 4411 or 442 again on the pitch.

Liverpool was the most important game of the season. This one in essence is meaningless, because we'll get smashed in the next round as long as moyes is here.
Anyways, while I agree, I simply don't care anymore. It's like beating a dead horse with respect to kagawa. We all know he should play but what are the chances he'll start after hardly having a sniff of football in 2014, despite playing well in the little bit he played. No matter the lineup, we'll more then likely play like shit because moyes doesn't know how to set them up or get them playing good stuff. My only hope is that this doesn't cause shinji to leave in the summer even if moyes leaves.

Any reason why? Based on however many games we've played this season, I can't see us passing through them, or having a deadly striker getting in behind their defenders like Hernandez used to do. I reckon giving them a physical problem to deal with could work. It's certainly worth a go, since little else is working. He won't constantly give the ball away cheaply like Rooney always seems to when he plays behind a striker.

I wouldn't want to see it long term, or for more than just this game, but when the objective is to score at least 3 goals, Moyes needs to go direct, IMO.

I reckon it'll finish 1-2. They'll sit back and ask us to try and break them down, whilst going on the occasional counterattack themselves.

Breaking down defences and defending counterattacks have been our major weaknesses this season. This match is perfectly set up to exploit them.

We will be eliminated no question, we might win by a goal, but likely it will be a score draw. Being 2-0 down with the fear of conceding an away goal that would require us to score 4 requires a focused, disciplined, attacking and determined mindset, we don't possess any of those qualities.

de Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Fellaini
Welbeck Rooney Kagawa
van Persie

This is what I reckon Moyes will do.. But I'd rather Januzaj over van Persie (Welbeck up top with Rooney behind). Not sure if I'm talking out of my arse on this, but I recall someone saying Smalling's injury was hamstring related, so I reckon he is out of this game and the West Ham game (but hope not).

We'll win the game, the only question is if we go through. I'm going to be pessimistic and reckon we'll win 3-1.
