Manchester United v Manchester City

Clueless performance yet again against a top side. Moyes really is never going to beat one of the big boy's, is he?

Surprised it's only 0-1, could have been over in 10 minutes.

A few half decent moves up the pitch but not enough pace and created nothing of note.

Movement off the ball is still a thing, right?

Took us way to long to settle, pathetic. Ferdinand and Evra continue to get shown up, Carrick showing he's ineffectual.

Fletcher should have been in this game

Other than the elbow, Fellaini has been decent, but he's a red card waiting to happen, either by being cynical or just clumsy.

The first 10 minutes were hilarious. DDG looks dumbfounded as to what's going on infront of him. Comedy defending. Some of the worst I've seen by us. We grew into the game, but it's a massive shame we conceded so early.

Three sentences to sum up our playing categories.

Defensively we are ridiculously poor.
Midfield has been anonymous though we have somehow had a lot of the ball later in the half.
Our attack is extremely wasteful.

This a complete feck up by the players. Anyone..I mean ANYONE who plays football will know that if you know your tactics going forward, you know your tactics defending! Why THE feck do we have three in midfield then?? It was a clear idea to crowd that space.

The tactics were spot on! Some of the players have been really really POOR.

List of Shit Players in the first 25 mins

CARRICK
FELLAINI
RAFAEL

When your two central midfielder have been throuhgly SHIT you can do anything about tactics. INFURIATING! What do you do when two of your CM"s forget to defend and pass?? There's really no explanation to this.

Elbow aside, Fellaini is actually playing better than Carrick or Cleverley, though that's not saying much.

On the positive side, on another day with a stronger ref, we could have been down to 9 men!

Seriously. We haven't been that bad at all. I can't remember a chance city have had in the last half hour? We just need to improve our final ball
Nah, we was really bad. We was at sixes and sevens the first 25 minutes and seem too afraid of them. Granted, we came back into the game towards the end, but City could have had this wrapped up now tbf.

He's broke up nothing, unless you mean our own play.

Zabaleta's face too. I'm not saying he has been good. The team have been shit; all I'm saying is to stop scapegoating him. There's roughly 8 players performing worse than him on the pitch right now.

Some massive over reactions in here. They were all over us first ten minutes but we created chances after that and could've easily levelled with better finishing.

Glad we still have 10 men on the pitch at least and we did settle down in the last 20 minutes. We don't really look like scoring but I think we've staved off a potential route.

well if Liverpool can have Gerrard almost taking a guys head off and remain on the pitch...what Fellani did was just a gentle push....

but we are getting back into the game and thats good to see.

Before the Liverpool game I said in another thread that I still believe we will come 4th if we won our next three. If we had won that and tonight, we could be 5 points off Arsenal tonight as they are losing. They also have City next.

fecking hell man. All season we can't string 3 wins together.

Our team lacks confidence and courage, our tactics are shite, what's felliani doing on the fecking left sometimes?!

I don't understand. Why the unnecessary foul when you already have the ball? Why oh why?

When you are outclassed on the ball, you resort to being overly physical, even in situations like that.

Nah, we was really bad. We was at sixes and sevens the first 25 minutes and seem too afraid of them. Granted, we came back into the game towards the end, but City could have had this wrapped up now tbf.

They've had 2 decent shots on target from memory?

Terrible first 25mins. Stopped City a bit more in the other 20mins, look a bit toothless in front of goal. If City step the pace back up again in the second half then I don't fancy our chances. Still 1-0, not a terrible scoreline at present, could have been much, much worse.

I wonder if its not actually hard set but more that players are having to do certain jobs when City have the ball?

Which is fine if the players have some idea where they are moving. At times we have had four attackers within 5sqm of each other. And Fellaini has been wide left. Cleverley I don't even know what he is doing. Carrick is too busy standing in between Jones and Ferdinand.

At least Rafael and Evra know what to do attacking wise, but hardly needs any guidance.

Our attack is so ridiculously wasteful in the final third it is embarrassing.

How does tactical genius turn into a tactical shambles in 35 seconds?

That start was as pathetic as I've ever seen from a United side. The three of the back four were watching like nothing was happening.

Ffs these players are pathetic but as the old saying goes, the buck must stop with the manager. Another embarrassing loss to another rival and surely then, it's time for the board to look at it and thinking about cutting their losses.

Moyes probably telling our players to keep it tight in the 2nd half and try to nick a goal towards the end or something.

We are lucky the score is so low really, the start was a disgrace on our part. Pathetic defending, and then after that the players looked shocked.

Think we recovered better than I expected. Our defence looks ready to gift wrap them a goal at any moment, but let's be honest they're hardly defending well either. There are goals to be had in this one yet.

Our team lacks confidence and courage, our tactics are shite, what's felliani doing on the fecking left sometimes?!

Same as what Cleverley is doing on the right; not a lot but Moyes hates for the touchline to be lonely.

Some of that defending in the first half was criminal. We basically let them run through us or gave them the ball over and over again. Thankfully we have tightened up since then.

I think we need to continue being positive. Man City don't look secure at the back either. Their attack is faster than ours and they're picking some incisive passes. We have to win the ball and get forward quicker, and make our chances count.
