I don't get why Inter fans have to be considered racist and thuggish, unless you had a bad experience with them under this point of view. Some time ago there was a thread on here about the political stances of Italian ultras, I wrote that as far as I know, most of them are right-wing. I can assure you that Juve and above all Roma, Lazio, Napoli fans are much worse racist thugs than Inter. Then every set of fans has their share of dickheads.
Free to dislike Mourinho but claiming that we're anti-football is ridiculous, there was no other way to face Barça in those conditions (down to 10 men and without an instrumental player like Pandev), I still have to read a detailed post from those who criticized our tactics at the Camp Nou, about how they would have set the team up in Mourinho's place. In my opinion the only alternative was fielding Balotelli and fed him long balls on the counter but I don't blame our manager for not trusting him after what we did in the 1st leg, moreover you couldn't have expected by Mario the same workrate of Milito and Eto'o, who almost acted like added defenders.
Considering what was at stake, the 1st Champions League final in 38 years, I think Mourinho got all his tactics spot-on and brilliantly did anything possible to reach this achievement. In the 1st leg we offered entertaining football in some spells and the fact we're the only team that put 3 goals past Guardiola's Barcelona and that successfully kept Messi at bay for two consecutive games should be mentioned. In general, we're not an attack-minded team nor a worse version of the 2004 Greece team.

When Fergie retired, Van Gaal would have been well down the list of candidates I would have wanted. I wouldn't have been particularly happy with it really. Now I'd be elated if he took over.

I'd fear for Cleverley, Fellaini and Ashley Young's safety if they pull some of the performances they did this season with Van Gaal in charge.
Van Gaal may as well as to show his balls again if necessary to show who's the boss in town.

Still, it's sometimes necessary to have a guy like that in order to push some players beyond their current limits or precipitate their move out of the club in favour of players who want and can play modern football.
