La Liga 2013-2014

OK. Do you have any other example in recent years? Because I certainly can't recall any.

You said it hadn't happened this decade - I actually remember as far back as November.

They played on Saturdays before the Man City games. For as long as I can remember, Spanish teams have been playing on Saturdays right before CL games. This season is a slight exception for some reason.

City away they couldn't move the game to Friday because you had played a Copa game that week.

City at home you were playing on Wednesday so they followed their standard guideline of trying to give a CL club three clear days when they can. So they gave you the Saturday afternoon kickoff.

Atletico are playing better this half. There will be a lot of last ditch defending to be done from elche. I imagine atletico will get one or two eventually, unfortunately.

I said that something like this has never happened in previous years. The only example (outside this weekend) you came up with was a GS game back in November. I remember Barcelona having to play Clasicos right in the middle of CL semifinals against Chelsea (2009 and 2012) and also remember us playing Espanyol on a late Saturday night kick-off, and then having to play Inter on Tuesday night for another CL semifinal in 2010. It as been like that for as long as I can remember...

Cynical foul there, Costa should have given him a piece of his mind screw the suspension :D

I have a feeling atletico will win either the league or the cl. It would be sad imo if they won nothing this year and they have being playing so well against all odds all year. It would be hard to picture them winning nothing in the end. They are surely the team of the season so far.

Shame Miranda won't be called up for the World Cup, he deserves it.

How do you know he won't? He's been in fantastic form and surely must be in the reckoning along with T. Silva, Dante, and most probably Luiz (grrr)

I don't know for definite but he hasn't been called up to any recent squads. Neither has Filipe, who should also be called up, but Scolari is an idiot.

After they score a goal they play the same music as in the Allianz Arena, interesting. Come on Atleti then! :D

This ref is shite. So much off the ball fouling by Elche hasn't been given.

Why is that? I don't mind it, makes the atmosphere even better once the team scores a goal. I do enjoy it to be honest.

Because the tens of thousands of people in the ground should create the atmosphere not Song 2 by Blur. It's so plastic and small time, I hate it. Frankly, it's embarrassing that a club as great as Bayern Munich need to play music after they score to create atmosphere.
