Everton vs. Man United

It's a fantastic looking front four, no doubt, but what's behind them won't be enough to contain Everton for 90 minutes. We're going to need a few goals today, I reckon.

I'd like to think Nani and Kagawa can still save themselves from the chop this summer. Probably wishful thinking, but good games today can't hurt.

I think kagawa probably has. Moyes has started him in the past 3 gamea and especially the game against bayern shows that he's started trusting him. Nani im not so sure. Didn't his agent recently come out and say he's looking to leave?

Moyes is a genuine joker if he thinks he needs £200m and to compete. Look at the line up and bench FFS. A left back, a CM or two and an extra body in defence and we're good to go.

nani was injured most of the time, wasn't he?
Yeah he's been injured most of the last 2 years. Still get the feeling that moyes didn't value him and just gave him the contract so he doesn't leave for cheap, and might be playing today just to get the price up. Hopefully that's not the case.

Excuses for being shit

Agreed. Although I don't think Moyes has ever said he needs 200M. Just what the papers have been saying.

we have a squad, gotta rotate to keep people happy. I like to think if this was a big game, like a cup final, where you pick the absolute strongest team then Danny would be in the 11. But not a fairly meaningless game like today

A fine jest sir. :smirk:

Front 4 I've been looking forward to seeing at some point. Hopefully Nani has a cracker of a game.

Or he is a genius.

He took advantage of his under performance to trick the Glazer's into thinking we need £200m to compete knowing by spending that money on a world class left back, Centre midfield creative, Centre midfield defensive and Centre back (perhaps also using left overs to sign a top wide man) he knew he could be competing for the treble next season.

I personally won't complain if the Glazer's put the cash up and Moyes spends it right.

Not 200m, but the list you mentioned above would cost ~ 100m surely

i read somewhere that he ll more likely to be given 100m rather than 200m

I'm slightly worried about Nani's match fitness, but he's been back in training for a month now so hopefully it's not a issue.

He'll have a list of the right players. Then he'll fail to get them and settle for something less, because that's acceptable to him.

Good lineup. Suprised with the Nani inclusion, because he seemed on his way out the door this summer. Perhaps Moyes is giving him another chance to prove his worth at United or he is raising his price for potential suitors. Whatever the scenario is, I rather have an in form Nani than Young, so if he can perform well today, maybe that will change Moyes mind.

Other inclusion that suprised me was Rooney. Is he really 100% fit for this game? The last time he played with the notion that he was fit enough, he helped eliminate United from the cpl. Hopefully, he is fit enough and we can see a much better Rooney against Everton, than we saw against Bayern.

From an overall perspective, I do not believe we can make fourth after Arsenal victory today even with a win. So, I think we will be playing for pride and for Moyes today. Everton is not an easy opponent, but even I will be humiliated for Moyes if Everton outperforms us and comes out with a win.

Or....just a new manager.

He never mentioned 200m, did he? Mind you we are so devoid of class in CM we not two top players in there, and when a promising LB is 30m you're looking at around 100m for 4 players in the positions you mentioned.

As others have said, Moyes never said he need 200m. But he's said things along the lines of what you've said there. Yet he's a joker, and you're a what?

Ye, I was thinking that. Wander if he's been playing in any of the U21 games as well?

He hasn't from what I know. Brining him in such an intense match might be a bit much for him. Hopefully he can do it for 70 minutes or so.

Good to see Nani back. He's been hanging around the squad fit for a while now, so good to see him get the nod, and remind us what a good player he can be.

Bloody hell, @Amadaeus

Dortmund are a selling club.

Offer them £100m for Gundognan, Hummels, Reus and Klopp.

Why would you include a guy who has barely played all year and has a major back problem?

if he performs as he did in the last couple of years, i won't mind if he moves on.it might be best solution for both parties
