Cleverley being there makes the CM as mobile as it can ever get, no matter how bad he is. Valencia on the wing is pretty pacy as well

Hmm. Reserving judgement. Seems odd to leave Mata out but then against Everton we had too many creative possession players and not enough direct attackers for them to aim at. This seems to redress that imbalance.

No complaints about the back four. Only questionable pick in my opinion is Cleverley, but hopefully Giggs will have had a quiet, confidence-boosting word in his ear and he'll put in a good show. Mata was poor against Everton so no problem with him being dropped in favour of Shinji.

I had a feeling we wouldn't be seeing Mata tbh. G. Neville openly said when we bought him that he didn't feel he was the right man for United and didn't fit in with our philosophy. With Giggs mentioned this week about getting back to playing the United way etc, it is clear to me that he shares the same feelings as Neville on how United should play.
If he doesn't rate Adnan, sack him.

If it was a straight choice between Mata and Kagawa for this game, you can't really argue with Giggs based on recent form. Kagawa has been better. Love Mata but he was shite against Everton so deserved to be dropped. So does Rooney but that's not going to happen, lets be honest.
