Manchester United vs. Norwich City

Giggsy's reaction to the miss

Dread to think the abuse Welbeck would've got had he missed that.

Anyone using this game to prove anything is deluded. But if the Glazers are led to believe that the squad just needs minor tweaking then we are fecked next season. We might compete for a top 4 place, but it will be touch and go whether we make it. We can forget about a title challenge,

Why we won a title with this team and the 3 obvious losses in the summer from that squad could be replaced with better younger players. ie a current world class Rio, Vidic and Evra.

Hernandez really isn't a good finisher. Most of his goals come from his good positioning and despite his poor finishing.

Ironically for a player so often derided for his build up Chico's been megging people but misses a 1 on 1

 to people who think we are playing the same way as we did with Moyes. The tempo has been so much faster. There has been movement. Penetration. Determination. Passion.

Yes our defense is still shaky but that's a personnel thing. Yes our midfield is weak but that's a personnel thing. But we have got the best out of what we had today, something Moyes didn't manage. For whTever realsn.

We've def had games like this, issue being I can count them on one hand. Southampton will be the interesting game as we haven't played well against an Pl team

Look at that, the class of 92 heading towards the tunnel together

We've had more shots on target today than any game this season.

We're attacking with purpose when 4-0 up.

It's a completely different side.

If only we had played Norwich in every other game this season, we might have won the league.

He's just a bit rusty. He definitely deserves to play a lot more though.

If we do get Europa League, then it would be great to have him and Welbeck there with Wilson as back up.

Who thought we'd look this good from the starting lineup?

Typical Ferguson performance this, do nothing in the first half and go all out in the 2nd half and batter the opposition.

Every player is playing to their strength, something Moyes failed to do in 10 months. He should have had enough cues from Giggs judging by today's performance. Sack well deserved, Mr. Moyes.

I'm sorry but if you genuinely can't see the difference between this and any of moyes' games, then you don't know what you're talking about.

Genuinely tell me what's been different?

Most likely we'd have beaten them 4-0 under Moyes too, playing in exactly the same fashion. Norwich are that awful but even still if they'd have come out and attacked us rather than being wet blankets I'd bet they might've scored first and then we'd have been in the same old situation. We barely laid a finger on them in the first half, we were as dire as ever. Second half has been better yes, we've played some nice stuff but not unlike against Villa or Newcastle or any of the times we've actually won this season.

People are getting swept up in the occasion, in the fact we've got Giggsy in charge but really this has been a completely standard game. The defence haven't been troubled but on the rare occasion Norwich attacked they nearly scored. The midfield were pretty awful until we scored at which point Norwich stopped pressing and Carrick was free (plus we took off Cleverley who was utterly dogshite) and until Mata came on we created the square root of feck all.

If we didn't get the penalty I bet it wouldn't have been anything like 4-0.

Still, home wins are a luxury this year and of course it's nice to see Giggsy managing so enjoy the win regardless.

A tale of two halfs. Well done.

The squad is actually quite good, but it does need a proper manager and midfield rebuild. Throw in a solid left back and we're just about there.

FT: So much for all the moaning of the lineup. Only Norwich ,but it was good to see.
