I'm surprised anyone here expected to see an inspired performance from us today, a meaningless game.

No Rooney means the side is missing its best player (apart from De Gea).
We're missing Rafael.
No Jones.
No Carrick.

Nothing to play for anyway after what's been a terrible season. And now under a player-manager.

Choosing two number 10s and playing neither in the number 10 position. Poor team selection. Were all over the place.

The squad is not bad enough to be languishing in mid table. When you have a mediocre manager in Moyes and a man (Giggs) who hasn't even obtained all his UEFA badges coaching you, this is what can happen. We need better players everybody knows this, but we shouldn't be where we are in the table with the players we have. Mata, Januzaj, Kagawa and RvP should be sufficient to at least take a game to an opponent but you can see that the very basics of half decent football are non existent on the pitch. We need a good manager first of all.
Kagawa didn't do much for SAF to be fair and he knows what he doing.

Absolutely awful so far; our passing in particular is horrendous. I think we need another body in central midfield, where we are totally outnumbered.

I'd swap Kagawa and Januzaj for Carrick and Cleverley, and put Welbeck on the right to track Shaw.

Kagawa and Mata both need to play better. Too many excuses for them both this season.

I have to say giggs isnt convincing as well. Looks at bit timid and passive. He stands like david moyes with his hands in his pockets and head down. The players need leadership and authority and both he and moyes cant give it. They are too nice.

Sooner Mr Arrogant Van Gaal arrives the better

We should just go home and take a forfeit 3 - 0. It would genuinely be better than watching a second half of that.

I wouldn't read much into this game, we just want to go home, while our opponent is motivated (as usual) and well organized. No movement, friendly game attitude.
And that CB pairing… they always look like creating something special.

Take vida off, play Valencia at RB, Smalling CB.

Carrick on for kagawa, good change. Needed. Would have liked to put adnan on the left and take off welbeck but hopefully he'll improve now that we have a midfield.

If Lawrence plays then he probably won't start on Wednesday.

What makes you think that? We often bring someone on for a sub appearance at the weekend before they play a midweek game.

I mean, I suppose it's possible he's not fit enough to come on as a sub and play 90 minutes three days late, but I don't know why you think that's likely.

This is giggs chance to show the world what he has. He aint got it.

and once again Kagawa is incredibly underwhelming.

Carrick - Fletcher may not be the best midfield but its still a whole lot better than Kagawa - Fletcher. Good change.

Good change on paper. I don't know if Kagawa is comfortable playing CM or not, but that has to go down as his worst performance ever for me.

Kagawa would be one of the first players I would sell. We really don't need him. Mata, Rooney, Januzaj, Powell and Periera are enough for that position

Rooneys not our best player

Thank god for that, I'm a big Kagawa fan but these last few games hes been on holiday.

Really poor stuff, we didn't have any answers to Southampton's high pressure and we looked like a team from a past decade. There was little improvement towards the end of the half, we tried to bring RvP and Evra in the game. I don't believe Southampton can press that high for 90 minutes, so Mata and Kagawa might get a chance to influence the game... not that it really matters anyway.

I still can't understand why Welbeck is instructed to play so wide. The whole meaning of him playing as a winger is to give him the opportunity to play 1v1 with his back against the FB (lighter player). But in order to take gain something from this advantage he must play closer to RvP. I also don't know why we have put our best attacking player (Januzaj) on the right wing where he has to face Southampton's best defending FB.

Ans i don't know how good Carrick is, but i'm dead sure that Fletcher can't play in front of the back four like him.

Glad this season finally ends, i've been so tired of people trying to imitate SAF's tactics and failing miserably (no disrespect to Giggsy).
