"We're going to smash them (Crystal Palace)"
I'm really not worried. I expect him to be a Liverpool player come September.
I expect him to be a Madrid player come September. Don't see Madrid missing out on their shiny new toy, it doesn't work like that.I'm really not worried. I expect him to be a Liverpool player come September.

He won't turn them down. For Latin players, playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid is he dream, not playing in the north of England.
That is almost a given. He is not a Scouser who will not thinking of leaving the club. Plus it's Real Madrid we are talking about here.
He wanted it badly when he is offered twice what he gets at Liverpool.
He badly wanted to leave for Arsenal last summer. Do you think just because he will play in CL next summer will be enough for him to not join Madrid?

They'll get him, but it won't be until next year.

It's not like we'll miss him anyway, given that he only scores against the bottom team or something.
Is it as much a given that Rooney will be pining for a move should an offer come in this summer? He's wanted out twice now after all.
He won't be getting much more than he gets with us and we finished 2nd and are back in the CL playing great football. All factors highly different from last summer.
And besides, there are degrees of wanting to join. Lallana apparently wants to join us, but so far hasn't wanted to rock the boat or agitate for a move.
If we accept an offer I expect Suarez will be interested in their offer. If we don't, I don't expect he'll be agitating for move.
That said, with Luis being Luis, it's anybody's guess what his next move is.
Lived off their reputation for 5 years? Try 20The obvious flaw in the Rooney comparison is his nationality. That is one of the main reasons why Suarez could make a cue for the move. Spanish weather, familiar tongue. The comparison did not make any sense but I guess anything to calm the nerves because of the fear of losing your talisman.
And are you actually comparing the pull of Real Madrid to that of Liverpool? Seriously! One is perhaps the biggest club in the world while the other has lived off it's past reputation for a good 5 years and just had their best year in a long time in which they even failed to win a single trophy.
About the statement that he would not get more than what you are giving him, I hope that is a joke. If Bale's alleged figures are anything to go by, Suarez would make a killing there. No doubt about the fact that he will make much more than what he is on here, unless he is already on 300k/week, which I doubt is the figure.
Over half against the bottom 5 teams is the exact stat, but of course you'll miss him because he's nonetheless your best player. I'd say you won't miss him as much as Spurs missed Bale though, as your attack is more balanced and the money would allow you to strenghten elsewhere. They'll get him, but it won't be until next year.

A front three of Ronaldo, Suarez and Bale, as good as it looks on paper, wouldn't blend well, in my opinion. Suarez is a bit greedy and likes to everything on his own, at times.
In the 4-3-3 system Madrid are playing, they could do with a false no.9 - a player who will drop off into the pockets of space and supply Bale and Ronaldo who will be forever making darts runs in between the full back and centre back. They should try Isco in that role.

Suarez this season has been anything but selfish. That's one of the core reasons why Sturridge has shone this season. IMO even his earlier selfishness was due to having unreliable goalscorers around him.A front three of Ronaldo, Suarez and Bale, as good as it looks on paper, wouldn't blend well, in my opinion. Suarez is so utterly unpredictable it's impossible to guess, there is every chance he will be at Madrid by September, but equally as much he will stay at Liverpool for a few more years....

Love how it's liverpool fans getting accused of wishful thinking.

You're on a United forum are we supposed to be desperate for him to stay and then be sympathetic when/if he does leave?Love how it's liverpool fans getting accused of wishful thinking. It was 101% certain he'd go last year according to the caf. You lot are absolutely dying for him to leave.
He's said to Southampton he wants to leave ...
The stock Caf post since May 2013...If Madrid want him, they will get him.

Yeah, must be horrible for him living up t'north. Feel for the guy.Real pretty much always get their main target.
They are a bigger club and have just won the champions league for the tenth time. He'd have a better standard of living, better weather, more money, better chance at trophies and far, far better teammates. If he's their main target (he wasn't last year) then Suarez is gone.
Add to that not having to be in a city filled with that god awful screeching accent....... Why would anyone want to stayReal pretty much always get their main target.

Well, with Barca's looming transfer ban and ageing legs and lack of quality coming through, it's pretty much nailed on they will spend this year. You can be sure Real won't sit idly by. Also, I'm not sure where Liverpool now sit with their £100m revenue from the season just finished, but surely they need to sell if they want to spen big in order to comply with UEFA and premier league FFP?I remain unconvinced that Real want him badly enough to pay a huge fee again.
I can see them waiting for a season before signing another 'Galactico'.
Real's policy this window might be dictated by what Barca do. If Barca splurge in order to rebuild then Real may spend big to get some attention.
Perez is crazy enough to base his entire transfer policy on silly things like that.
Suárez played out wide in a 433 a good few times towards the end of this year which outlines his selflessness and mobility and he always drops off into pockets of space anyway. He is more selfish than Benzema but he's got more quality as well, so ultimately he'll provide more for his team as well as producing more individually. Plus he adds a bit of bite, tenacity and workrate to an attack which is short on that.
I'd say it's a complete and utter waste to play someone like Isco so far forward as a "false 9" because it's a waste of a forward position on someone who possesses so little goal threat. How many successful "false nines" are there? It's very fashionable to talk about them but realistically only very special players have made it work. It was first tried out by Hungary back in the 50s and yes part of the reason it bamboozled England and worked so well was because it created space for the "false nine" - Hidegkuti - to work his creative magic, but he wouldn't have been played there to begin with if he didn't possess a goal threat. He had a 1 in 2 goal record at international level. Similarly when Spalletti brought it back into the modern game it was to help maximise Totti's creative influence on the game, but he still possesses a terrific goal threat. Then of course there's Messi. The likes of Gotze and Silva have been tried there as makeshift fixes in international squads because of inferior forwards, but when you possess the means that a club like Madrid have then you'll never be forced to go for any such makeshift fix. As of yet neither of those two (or Fábgreas) have excelled in the role either.
