There is a lot of difference between him saying specifically that " I am not going to Manchester"

And saying " No, No" when forcefully asked "Are you going to Join Manchester United?" The no could be just a way of avoiding the question.

Ah right. Meh, o well. Still plenty of time left and...

It's kind of irrelevant. Vidal would be a fantastic purchase but we can't just give up if this is the end for this particular chase.

Woodward will be seriously under pressure if he fails yet again to land players we desperately need. Moyes didn't get away with his shit management and Woodward won't get away with sheer incompetence in the transfer window.

How anyone reckons him saying he's happy at Juve and not coming to Manchester is in any tiny way a positive I don't know

There must be a video somewhere? If so can't be too hard to see if he mentioned Manchester or not.

If we aren't mentioned it's on, if we are - we're fecked.

he could have just said something like: i just said that i am happy at juventus and we will see, without saying no no.

Exclusively Vidal was interviewed by Sky Sports. The future? "I'm still on vacation, we'll see starting from tomorrow. Allegri? I have not heard from him or from my teammates yet. I do not know yet if I'll stay, I have to speak with Allegri first, but I'm happy here. "
He has said nothing wrong you feck wits, he was asked about his future. He replied the above.
Then he was asked if he was going to manchester, he obviously couldnt say yes or no. Most outlets report the above quote and not the united one. It could be fake, it could be out of context or could be even true but mean something else. We will find out by monday anyways.

He's always said he's happy at Juve. Its whether the second part has any actual basis is to it or not thats relevant. It probably is and its over, but you never know.

Don't care really. If he signs, brilliant, if not I am sure our scouting network and Van gaal will have some other player lined up. Simples.

I'm not worried just yet

Seriously, he has said what is expected to be honest. Covering both angles.
It is surely different if we do bid and it gets accepted, things suddenly change.

If he then moves to United, he won't care that he 'lied' as he won't be in Italy anymore.
Not saying this means he is coming, but to me, it doesn't mean he has rejected us

In what sense is that a positive? It's just another possibility.
Dude i don't even think the transfer is and ever was happening but Vidal saying 'no' when asked if he's joining us was always going to happen, he wouldn't say yes to that question.

We're arguing about nothing here. My point is, some places want to paint this as a positive, which it's clearly not. At best it retains the status quo.

How is Vidal being diplomatic here when he said that he isn't coming here?
Seems pretty straight forward to me.

We need that video confirmation and an Italian speaker to translate for us, STAT! Our hopes and dreams depends on this muppets!

The thing is most good outlets arent even reporting the second quote. Di marzio the most reputable isnt quoting the manchester quote. It may not even have been said by vidal, it may even be ronaldo like "i stay". If he had said it, Di marzio would have published it.

Somewhere in a darkened office Ed is on Twitter right now, reading the abuse he's getting, quietly sobbing. "But I told you all we weren't interested. I told you."

Is this a fair summary?

- Vidal mobbed at airport, asked if he will stay.
- He gives a diplomatic response, trotting out the usual footballer clichés about being happy at Juve.
- If he was absolutely set on staying at Juve, he could just say that, but he instead says that he will talk to Allegri.
- It's now accepted that the bit about going to Manchester or not was a Twitter fabrication.

Why the suicide?

I reckon we've tapped him up, he's going to speak to Juve and tell them he'd like to join us, Juve then work with United to reach a consensus on the fee.
