Wrong thread.Is that about Shaw?

Pretty much, that and you need very specific players for the roles. What exactly does our dear trainer-coach mean when he says that the wingbacks are "the specialists" in the 3-5-2 formation and subsequently that the wingers are the specialists in a 4-3-3? That they are the key positions?

It's interesting but that's a couple times now where I've heard LVG mention that SAF played in a 4-3-3 formation. While that may have been the case for certain matches in Europe, we've predominately been playing in a 4-4-2 formation under SAF as well as Moyes. Am I missing something here?
I think we shouldn't be so bogged down by these comments. As long as he knows what he thinks is best for the current players he has and that his winning philosophy will work, that's what matters. I think in a way, he's paving the way to ensure he's not being blamed for failure in the future since he would say, players "were not able to execute my philosophy" etc. It's interesting but that's a couple times now where I've heard LVG mention that SAF played in a 4-3-3 formation. Young played well at wing back? I thought he was caught out positionally a few times. It doesn't look natural to him - as you'd predict.
Yohann Kebab, Shola Amemobi.Liked how LVG turned Fellaini into a Spaniard. "Mata, Fallana, Herrera"![]()
Haha, and "Sir Alec", "Bayern Mansion"... And "I said it already, and I have to repeat myself?", "why did you ask?". Just brilliant!Adore this man already, from the fatherly way he is with the players, to his obvious obsession with football, to the manic horsey way he smiles at his own jokes to the way he says "Menchesser Unaaated."
Bayern München is the correct way to pronounce it.Haha, and "Sir Alec", "Bayern Mansion"... And "I said it already, and I have to repeat myself?", "why did you ask?". Just brilliant!
His behavious so far shows his obsession yes, and also he comes across as genuine and not pretentious (SAF is the similar).
What's wrong with McCarthy? You just can't see anything past him being Scottish and playing for Everton.

I know he plays for Ireland but I thought his parents were Scottish and he was also born in Glasgow. He's Irish.
James McCarthy (born 12 November 1990) is a professional footballer who plays for Everton and Republic of Ireland as a central midfielder. McCarthy made over 100 appearances for Hamilton Academical as a teenager, before being transferred to Wigan in 2009 for an initial £1.2 million. Although born, raised and schooled in Scotland to Scottish parents, McCarthy made his competitive debut for the Republic of Ireland on 26 March 2011 in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia.

He does like attention though. Our old friend Raymond Verheijen is currently on Talksport shitting on his conditioning work for players. Listing out the injuries we currently have and the ones Netherlands had in the World Cup and the lead up.
He didn't like Moyes and he doesn't seem to like Van Gaal. Or maybe he just doesn't like United.

The fact that the interview is reported verbatim is a smart move. We can see exactly how he was responding and not how the reporter thought he was saying. LvG is an articular person if he's speaking in own tongue.Really liked that interview. He commands respect, something Moyes failed miserably to do.
UNITED PRESS OFFICER: Sorry, we’ve got to go…
LVG [getting up}: Interesting eh? Interesting. You’re all coaches now….
