"I see Stevie slippin' on the floor tonight"... ?
Good start, but substitute 'pitch' for 'floor' and let it flow.
Half of their posters think that they're poets; the other half seem convinced that they live in the Lord of the Rings or something. That is surely a form of mental illness, and I'm not sure if I should be laughing any more.
But the final line will still be the same.We should get another passage made for that kopite chapter.
We should get another passage made for that kopite chapter.
You're right, that's miles better. I'll let someone else finish it off though I think
Edit: Looked up the lyrics, actually it fits pretty nicely...
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba
And he's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba
Can you see him slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba, Demba
Well if he told you he was slipping, you would not lend a hand
I've seen his face before my friend, but I don't know if he knows how to win
Well I was there and I saw what he did, I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can't wipe off that grin, they said he would win
It's all been a pack of lies
And I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba
And he's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba
And he's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba, Demba
Well I remember, I remember, don't worry, how could I ever forget
It was the last time, the last time had a chance
But I know the reason why he keeps slippin' up, oh no he don't fool me
Well the hurt doesn't show, but the pain still grows
It's no stranger to Stevie G
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba
He's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba, Demba
He's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba
He's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba, Demba, Demba
Well he's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba, Demba
I see Stevie slippin' on the pitch tonight, Demba, Demba, Demba, Demba
Well he's been waiting for this moment for all his life, Demba, Demba, Demba Ba
Oh now finally RAWK is back at its totally unhinged best!@Mods..
For me RAWK and some of its writers are the Bible of writing.
Can we please have a thread dedicated exclusively to the personal write ups on Steven Gerrard. We have some really really great amazing superior writers here and the readers of RAWK will have the privilege of living those Stevie G memories in their mesmerising words.
Maybe we could lure him back? He always was a bit of a Stevie G fanboy.Damien said:Plech's gone. Nobody else could do it justice.
A swing from his wand of a right made us Marvel, we stood, stopped and stared as he dragged us, his team and his city through the storm.
What a footballer, captain and man
Steven Gerrard
In some weird way, and please understand what I'm saying here, him not winning a title may enhance his reputation a little, or at least have him considered separately. He'll be remembered as the best player to never win a title. If he had he'd be compared to Keane, Lampard, Scholes, Vieira etc who won multiple. I dunno, just something that crossed my mind.
Instead we can compare him with Gazza, Hoddle, Moore, Bale, Le Tiss, Zola, etc, etc.Not winning is the new winning apparently
Where'd he go? Guy was a caf legend.Plech's gone. Nobody else could do it justice.
To be fair they have had half of the LOTR cast playing for them in Spearing, Flanagan, Adam and Skrtel to name a few.Half of their posters think that they're poets; the other half seem convinced that they live in the Lord of the Rings or something. That is surely a form of mental illness, and I'm not sure if I should be laughing any more.
See that 70 yarder he pinged to Henderson against Leicester? Ran away on the wet grass but only because hendo couldn't believe his eyes at first.
To be fair they live in a barren wasteland populated by freakish looking creatures who would eat you as soon as look at youHalf of their posters think that they're poets; the other half seem convinced that they live in the Lord of the Rings or something. That is surely a form of mental illness, and I'm not sure if I should be laughing any more.
Very rare to see a one club man in this day and age, legend!
That's the beauty of it, they know what's happening but they are so caught up in the love affair that it hasn't hit them that it will actually happen. One man club legend? Is he aware that Gerrard is leaving them for another club?
One man club legend? Is he aware that Gerrard is leaving them for another club?
Having slept on it overnight and having seen Kenny in his prime, I would suggest that Gerrard is indeed our greatest player ever. One club man (in any meaningful sense of the term), outstanding footballer and very importantly local lad.
I don't think you could call any of those players legends at present. In fact, apart from a few special cases (one club players like Stevie) I think you only realise the value/contribution of a player once they've left/retired or are at the stage of their careers that Stevie is at now.
Lastly, thanks for being proof that there can be a love affair with football. That it's not absolutely entirely fecking cynical. That kids with posters on their walls, dreaming of playing for one club and one club only whichever it may be, actually can grow up to live that fantasy. That it's not solely about the paycheck and the fame and all the bollocks that goes with it.
I'm not so good at stuff like this but here goes...

Tbf, one of the Chelsea regulars on here used to call Lampard a one club man. Apparently West Ham didn't count.Quite a few have accepted him going to another club and are sad about it saying they always envisioned him being a one club man. Some others are in denial saying he's a one club man "in any meaningful sense of the term" .... erm.
The drums kicking it in would be fantastic.
*dedem dedem dedem dedem BA ! BA !*
They've gotten a penalty for kicking ball into someone's face?
Stuff like this happens far to often, I need a new username
Of course someone is dying to say "who gives a feck what other fans do", but SG is a rare breed of English football, he's made headline news all day and is a national icon whether LFC fans like it or not. So it will be interesting to see if the country wishes to join our loss and pay tribute to a true great.
I won't lie, I broke down before bed last night after this was announced. I was numb after we lost last season and held it together, but this was a bridge too far emotionally. He's the rock of this organization, and I'll weep with everyone else in May.
They have the most penalties in the EPL era.
Conspiracy.
A huge part of football has died for me
Those MLS viewing figures are gona just explode, aren't they. 'Cause I know I'll be watching at some daft hour on a shitty stream, rocking back and forth in floods of tears
Got the latest stats for that? Searched and last confirmed in Daily Mail on Jan last year.
Well yeah. Beckham has actually won leagues. How the heck can him watching on some illegal stream mean the mls viewing figures will explode?
There's some real masterminds posting in that thread.
He'll do well for the MLS no doubt, but he is no Beckham, and the impact on the leagues perception overall will not be a big one. Phil Collins may see a resurgence around the bars of LA though I suppose.
