Pep has made the Bayern so much worse and taken away all their strengths they had under Heynckes.
To be fair to Pep, Heynckes certainly wouldn't have won the treble with Ribery, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Martinez and Alaba out injured.

Xavi's been better than Iniesta and Rakitic the last few times I've seen him now. Ignoring the injury, think they should still wheel him out for the big games.

Barcelona looking like the strongest side in this competition and they have a shaky defence, UCL back to being unpredictable? Wouldn't mind an underdog winning it.

I was just thinking whether Pep's actually made them better or worse because they were pretty formidable under Jupp (something for which LvG is never to shy to take credit btw)

They were amazing under Pep this season and for long parts of last season as well. They got fecked by their injury crisis. They simply can't replace Robben and Ribery if both are out injured and I doubt that 3 defensive players committing individual mistakes was part of Pep's tactical plan either.

Juve would be fun. Obviously Porto too.

I'd take Juve winning it just for some variety.

Don't you be getting any ideas!

:p

Yeah, wishful thinking on my part, and while I'd be amazed if he did leave given his reputation, failing to progress past Porto would be another failure for him. Winning the league with this Bayern side is something any competent manager should be doing so it is only really in European competition that the manager proves his worth at Bayern.

We've been playing a lot of crap with them as well under Pep, though. I just can't see where he wants to go with his tactical approach. It's complete bollocks.

Great work posting all the action from both matches my Lord.
Doesn't get said enough!

don't give him any praise. until i can watch both game,s in real time, in the form of gifs, he's not done his job.

If only Moyes had managed to finish 4th, I'd have fancied our chances in this years tournament if I'm being honest.

I swear I keep missing these goals tonight trying to flick between games is a pain, stick with one match for a few minutes and the other team scores on the other side.

Would be funny if Pep gets fired and Bayern take Klopp.

But, has he actually made them "better" than they were, taken them to the next level as it were?

He wouldn't if he was limiting them(Ribery & Robben) on staying wide and having the likes of Rafinha and Alaba ocuppying their positions neither.
