Champions League - Quarter Finals

It's probably most people just disliking Real Madrid more. Let's not forget Atletico are the eternal underdogs, which does make them more likeable.
But yeah, Simeone and his players are thugs. And now they can't do shit on the attack because they lost Costa.
It was as if they were so enthralled in kicking the opposition that they forgot to play football. I completely understand why people would dislike Real Madrid but I think they're easily the lesser of two evils.

Juventus were quite fortunate with their draws, they might get Madrid and manoeuvre their way to the final.

Yea because our teams do not spend in the transfer market. Most of them outspend Bayern and are there or thereabouts with Barcelona. Let's not recycle this old cliché.

United spent money on average players, Arsenal hardly ever spent whilst Chelsea had no idea what they were doing when they changed manager every 6 months. Now all 3 have a good base almost to push on and dominate europe again.

I agree, the top teams are getting stronger again, City just need to sort themselves out.

The two Madrid clubs are still no match to Barca when it comes to theatrics. Lot to learn.

It was Ronaldo who was celebrating as if he scored, James fecking Rodriguez jumped over Chicharito and went to celebrate with fans. Henry being a bitch that he is again.

What did he say?

Having a go at Hernandez, saying he should have turned around and celebrated with Ronaldo because it's Ronaldo's goal.

He rolled the ball 3 yards sideways, any other player would have done the same thing, Henry seems to think it's worth of special praise, and therefore criticized chicarito for running away and celebrating.

They just scored a late winner in an incredibly high-pressure game. Even fecking Casillas was well within his rights to go and celebrate with the crowd!

£4m a year to talk trash.

Thierry Henry still mad that Nedved and Ronaldinho beat him to the Ballon'Dor lol. All he ever does is state the obvious, I thought he was decent during the world cup but for Sky he hasn't really been a very good pundit and imo Jamie Nedknapp is better than him.

Because he answered a post that said they'd hope Bayern or Barca would beat those cheats and he's arguing Barca are the same.

You can make a strong case against all the top teams in Europe that they cheat to win though.

Sounded like Henry trying to shock rather than make a coherent point there.

I totally agree.

Sounds trying to sneak Liverpool into the mix of big name teams
It's a bit rich criticising Simeone's football when Liverpool played some dire stuff under Benitez, Hodgson and Houllier while Mourinho's played negatively since day one.

I should probably stopped watching Barca and Real games. Instead of getting entertained I end up getting angry watching all the embarassing theatrics.

I'm not making a case for anyone. Just pointing out the relevance to this particular Barca remark.

Personally I just want to see entertaining football. Real, Barca and Bayern on their day are the most entertaining sides in Europe. If Atlético won the tie we could have a Juventus-Atlético semi-final which would be awful given how those teams have been playing.

So it wasn't an issue of spending then? As for Chelsea changing managers, you can easily say the same about pretty much every team in the continent. Chelsea are following that model where the manager is just another employee so I am not sure that matters that much. Atlético, Juventus and Dortmund have spent less than Arsenal and City and still did better in recent years. English clubs act as though spending is the ONLY factor when in reality it is a vital, necessary and important one but not the only one which lead them to ignore the other pieces of the puzzle that elevate the likes of Barcelona and Bayern.
